PFTQuote:Benson was wearing a protective boot on his left foot after the game and said he will have more tests on it on Monday, but he also said X-rays did not show any broken bones, and he’s confident he doesn’t have the dreaded lisfranc injury, which could end a running back’s season.
“I was able to walk on it,” Benson told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “Guys who have had [the lisfranc injury] usually can’t.”

Thanks Nerd.
Time for Green and/or Starks to step up for a week then and let Benson heal. I don't think Benson will be out more than a few weeks, top.

Hopefully he'll be fine. Our offense really went down hill after he got hurt today. It changed the way that McCarthy was calling the game.

I don't think

likes Kuhn for carrying the load. Why? I don't know. But he never seems to give Kuhn a shot.
I would LOVE to see a game where Kuhn gets 15+ carries. We'll see it with Benson. Heck, we might even see it with Green or Starks next week. But

never gives Kuhn that opportunity.

PFTQuote:During his Monday press conference, Packers coach Mike McCarthy ruled Benson out of this week’s game against the Texans as a result of the injury. There’s no timetable for his return to action, which leaves the Green Bay running game in the hands of John Kuhn, Alex Green and James Starks, who was inactive on Sunday.
Looks like Green should be getting a shot.

He showed promise on his long run, but besides that he showed exactly what we've been getting out of GB RBs for years: Can run through holes, but can't slip between two people and fall forward on every play after contact is initiated rather than going down. That's not saying that Green and Starks suck or anything of the like, it says more about how impressed I was with Benson's ability to make one cut and go, and always push forward for that extra yard or three.

Agreed. Benson's a pro at getting yards consistently.
I'd like to see that from Green and Starks.

Well they just reported on ESPN(halftime ) that Benson is out a minimum of 8 weeks and if determined he needs sugery his season is over.
James Starkes better be ready to go.
Personally I would like to see more of Alex Green and Brandon Saine, probably gonna get my wish, because Starkes hasn't proven he can be the every down back The packers have been looking for.
Plenty of early season hurdles to get over, we'll see what this team is made of the next 12 weeks.

Maybe we can offer Finley to the 'Skins for Ryan Grant.

:-k Well I don't know about that, but I see Grant had 1 carry for 5yds so he probably is still pretty fresh!!!

This season is just a fricken nightmare so far. Thank god we recently got another Super Bowl championship.
When I want to watch the Packer team I know we have, I just bring up the Falcon playoff game off the DVR and smile. It's like that shot of happy juice the anesthesiologist gave me prior to my appendectimy.

Hopefully Stark's benching will have made an impact on him and he'll step it up.

That sucks big time. Benson was a welcome site on the gridiron for the Packers. Back to our no-name do-nothing running game.

I have read that depending on the type and severity of the Lisfranc injury that this injury can be career ending.
Not saying that this will be the case with Benson but I'm doubting he will be back this year.
