Previously I said they had two drives under 30 seconds. I was penalizing them for a drive incorrectly.

Here are four of the three and outs they had.

0:52	GB 20	3	-1	Punt
0:58	GB 20	3	-8	Punt

Four drives that ate up just over 3 minutes!!

:50 drive
1-10-GB 32 (10:20) (Shotgun) 20-A.Green left tackle to GB 33 for 1 yard (93-D.Freeney).

:52 drive
1-10-GB 20 (:18) (Shotgun) 12-A.Rodgers pass incomplete short left to 18-R.Cobb. PENALTY on IND-32-C.Vaughn, Defensive Holding, 5 yards, enforced at GB 20 - No Play.

12 pass plays to 2 run plays in 4, uh, drives... only 3 minutes??? Wow. This Packers offense OWES their defense. Big time.

Balance. We are completely out of balance. Keep this up and Rodgers will get injured. We'll then have to use Graham Harrell, and you know what? We'll win, because we were forced to run the frickin' football.

Both Finley and Nelson are tied for 5th in the NFL for drops with 4 each.

Time of possession is a WCO concept.

Apparently it's a matter of complete indifference in the Run and Shoot.

IMO, the problem isn't the pass/run ratio. It's the shotgun/non-shotgun ratio.

Wade, I agree a lot with the shotguns being a problem. Using ESPN for the play-by-play, in the Colts game, Mike McCarthy mixed it up pretty well in the first quarter, with 8 plays from the running formation and 6 from the shotgun.

That changed dramatically beginning in the second quarter: 17 of the 19 plays run were from the shotgun. 3rd qtr: 12 of 17 plays run from the shotgun. 4th qtr: 11 of the 15 plays were from the shotgun.

So, after the first quarter only 11 of our 51 plays were from a running formation, the other 40 were from the shotgun.

But I would argue it's really both. You have to run it enough to make the LBs, etc respect your play action fakes, which slows down the pass rush and freezes the LBs--helping your receivers get open by opening up the middle of the field.

Houston in the Mon night game gave a clinic on running the ball from under center, then running a play-action pass. I just hope Mike McCarthy is taking notes during the film study for this week's opponent.

Good detail here, macbob. I'm glad people like you and Kevin are willing to go back and look things up so lazy, shoot-from-the-hipsters like me can continue to lazily shoot from the hip.

Mccarthy essentially gave up on the run the minute Cedric went down. Granted, Alex Green was fucking terrible on all but 1 play so during the game I didn't hold it against him too much.

I was going to end it with "but damn those numbers," but when u look at Alex Green's number before his long run....you just want to say "damn those numbers" about those too.

IDK, I can't hold it against him THIS WEEK.

What about Kuhn? There were other options besides Green than the one Mike McCarthy chose (abandon the run). Kuhn's not going to break a 40 yarder, but he can pound it inside and can be a good lead-in to a play-action pass.

For someone who says he wants to run the ball, Mike McCarthy abandons the run incredibly quickly (and in the case of the Seattle game before the first play was run).

uffda udfa (18m) : Golden Tate pushed off big time in Seattle. I said it then.
Zero2Cool (19m) : Max McCaffrey Added to Roster, J.C. Tretter Subtracted
Zero2Cool (21m) : Read what I said about Hail Mary plays and referees letting players play. Got it? Good.
Zero2Cool (22m) : I absolutely would not. Don't dare presume to speak for me. WTF.
uffda udfa (24m) : Had it been other way around I would've been screaming and so would u.
uffda udfa (49m) : It's just true. I try hard to see it and tell it like it is. Was OPI.
Zero2Cool (3h) : which is of course ok, i just personally see it as weird.
Zero2Cool (3h) : Just odd that a Packers fan points out when Packers perceived to get away with something, yet ignore opponent. Weird.
Zero2Cool (3h) : Packers added RB Christine Michael (back) to the injury report as questionable
uffda udfa (4h) : Not diminishing anything. He got away with OPI. Didn't notice before. Was in airport.
Zero2Cool (6h) : Bahahahahahahha GO PACK GO!!!!
Zero2Cool (6h) : when you're buying your Super Bowl LI Champion gear, be critical of that too!
Zero2Cool (6h) : keep trying to diminish what the Packers have done and ...
Zero2Cool (6h) : one... that's just how it goes. They let the players play. But go ahead
Zero2Cool (6h) : Everyone knows on the hail mary type passes, those little shoves won't be called. Think replacement refs 2012. So, no did not get away with
Dulak (6h) : ya I think they mentioned that U U ... but you see this alot - even in the dallas game they pushed off at least 1 time (they as in dallas)
uffda udfa (12h) : Just rewatched Cobbs hail mary catch in slo mo...he should've been flagged for OPI. Got away with one.
uffda udfa (15h) : Nope. I like Gus.
beast (15h) : Did you want Anthony Lynn as HC? Cushion Bradley was going to follow Lynn where ever.
uffda udfa (16h) : Gus Bradley is new DC in SD/LA. I would've loved to had him here in Green Bay.
uffda udfa (20h) : It's just fine.
musccy (20h) : 5 questionable Packers, none for Falcons. Not good.
uffda udfa (21h) : Jordy not listed as OUT or DOUBTFUL. Questionable on injury report.
uffda udfa (22h) : This is the 6th straight game we've faced someone for the 2nd time. We learn.
uffda udfa (22h) : Aaron: I like our role. I like our chances. (said he relishes being an underdog)
uffda udfa (22h) : Aaron alludes to fake crowd noise at Georgia Dome for Sunday.
uffda udfa (22h) : So, to recap. Losing streak "just the way it is", winning streak "astronomical feat". #Balanced
uffda udfa (23h) : Ironically, he called the turn around "astronomical" not just the way it is in the NFL. #Don'tMissTheIrony
uffda udfa (23h) : Ted tells Demovsky the Packers weren't underachieving when 4-6. Just the way it is in the NFL????
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Only time I recall getting annoyed is when they beat a single topic over and over and over.
Pack93z (20-Jan) : Most yes... Heller seems to get it more so... diversity in his coverage... but seemingly can highlight the pressing issues properly.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : I'm kind of in the boat that they all are babblying boonies.
Pack93z (20-Jan) : God bless it... Bill Michaels can be a stubborn SOB at times... love his Packers coverage, still think he is a buffoon at times.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Jordy Nelson Named PFWA Comeback Player of the Year
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Carter is predicitng the end is in ATL for Packers.
