That opens a roster spot... Daniel Muir anyone? http://profootballtalk.n...-with-ability-to-return/Quote:With a bunch of injuries creating uncertainty on the roster heading into their trip to Houston this weekend, the Packers made a move to open up a roster spot on Wednesday.
Coach Mike McCarthy announced that running back Cedric Benson has been placed on injured reserve as a result of the foot injury he picked up against the Colts in Week Five. Benson has been given the designation to return, so he will be eligible to start practicing with the team in six weeks and could play again in eight weeks if his foot has healed up enough to allow it. That’s about the same amount of time it is believed Benson will need to heal up so the move doesn’t have much downside for the Packers.

I would bring him in too. Don't know why we didn't keep him over some guys like Sean Richardson or Lattimore or dare I say a 6th Reciever?? Not knocking any players, but he would of and can be a great backup to Raji. Ecspecially for Raji's injury woes.

It's not whether you get knocked down, it's whether you get back up again. |

Honestly our TE and LB cores are fine, and idk how much Sherrod would be an improvement other than depth plus he is coming off a broken leg. Lawrence Guy could help us, but I fear he'll just be buried on the depth chart... Lets see if can find another Erik Walden.

Quick call up Goodell and get Johnny Jolly reinstated. |

Quick call up Goodell and get Johnny Jolly reinstated. I like the thought, but it'd be awhile before he was ready. |

Not resigned. The next game would fit his talents.. anchor a spot and dare them to move you. Beyond that.. he was used up. Not much in terms of push last season. Free Agent though. |

There was discussion on the radio today that Benson's veterans minimum contract would be reduced by about $500K (from about $850K to $350K) if he went on IR. Don't know if the designation to return affects that, but this may be an expensive IR for Benson. |
