I may have missed a sarcasm alert, but if not, my only surprise is that you're surprised that it was China. In a country that fines you when you give birth to 2 children and even throws you into jail for doing that, in a country were baby girls are somehow "murdered" because you're by law only allowed to have one kid and that should be a boy to keep "the family" alive, I'm not surprised by anything.
