Any word on those two?
Neal in particular. Can't WAIT to hear if he'll ever play again.

Concussion for Worthy and I think a lower leg injury for Neal

First punt block for TD since 1990, holy crap!
Sloppy ass game and if they don't clean that shit up, Cardinals will whoop the Packers ass.
What did you like and dislike about this game? I thought the defense was good, they only gave up three FG's and that TD after the offense gifted the Jaguars first down with only 13 yards to go.

What did I like about the game - the D looked solid.
What I didn't like about this game - the O looked pathetic against a mediocre D. It seemed to have no heart.

looked averaged after 2 straight brilliant performances. The OL couldn't open up any running lanes and the pass blocking was mediocre.
We beat a bad team in a score much closer than I would have liked. The score should have looked more like the Pats vs the Rams score.

1. (negative) Looks like I'm going to go back to "OL OL OL" in the offseason ranting.
2. (positive) Pickett looked good.
3. Why can't this team dominate bad teams? Why why why why?

OL, pass rusher, OL, pass rusher, OL, pass rusher. There. So it's halfway between you and me.
And #3 disturbs me greatly. The Jags really are bad. I mean, really bad. We should have Pats vs Rams them.

If we don't draft a center early I'm going to send Teddy a rudely worded letter.
If we don't fire whoever the hell our offensive line coach is im going to send the same to McCarthy.
Our NT's sure we getting a jump on the ball today.
Lack of killer instinct is depressing.

Positive - I like the fact Green got 20+ carries. He's tough. Proved he can carry the load for the Packers this season.

I don't think he's a bad player at all.
I just don't think he's the best inside the tackles type runner. Why don't they use him for stuff he's good at?

That's how you develop a player. You just can't pitch it every down. Plus, I think they do use him where he's pretty good and thats catching the ball out of the backfield.

Starks is a proven runner and the only carry he had was actually solid he should be the 1st and 2nd down back

Maybe

is saving Starks for the Playoffs, a la 2010.
"Starks is hurt!" (wink, wink)
I take anything

says to the media with a grain of salt. I also think he's got some tricks up his sleeve.
Or....
It could be

still hasn't decided if it will be Green or Starks. He may be giving Green 20+ carries for a few more games to see if he can bust a 50+ yarder.
Watch - once Green busts a 50+ yarder, you'll suddenly have everyone come out of the woodwork as Green fans.

James Starks has proven to get injured easily. Sprinkle him in here and there and unleash him at the end of the season and playoffs because you just know the guy doesn't have 10 games IN him without an injury. This is the Ted Thompson 'wrap them up in bubble wrap' method.
Edit, in regards to the blocked punt for TD. "According to Rob Demovsky of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, the Packers were short because rookie Jarrett Boykin apparently failed to take his place."

The only carry he had, had a huge hole to run through? Green was bottled up by bad blocking most of the game, and when he had holes, he had good runs.
Our run games problem is not our backs. It is play calling, scheme and Oline blocking.

I don't know.....it seems the Packers ALWAYS play down to their opponent's level. It almost cost them BIG yesterday.
20 runs don't mean much when you can't get more then 3 yards a pop. That won't get it done.
The Packers were lucky. The blocked punt bailed them out. The special teams have been great, (other then "Bing" missing fieldgoals by a mile).
I'd LOVE to see Green get some yards on his own, but he doesn't seem able to do that. And with no holes opened up by the O-line, he goes no where.
The Jags have a lousy D-line, yet the Packers couldn't open up any holes. That's unacceptable.
D wasn't bad, but not really great. Of course on both sides of the ball, injuries played a big part in my view.
My concern is, Rodgers getting whacked so much. If he goes down, the team is sunk.
And if Nelson isn't back for next week's game, we could be in big trouble.
All said though, the Pack hung on for the win, which in the end is what really matters.
Maybe it was better this way, as they have been shown that just "showing up" doesn't guarentee a win. Maybe if they had blown out the Jags they would have become big headed, and not prepared properly for the next game. I doubt that will be a problem now.

My opinion on this game, HC Mike had a plan and was gonna stick with it hell or high water.
IMHO he wanted to get Alex Green going, would like to know just how many times Packers ran the ball straight up the gut on 1st down.
Gonna check, all I know 1st down runs were not successful, putting the team in 2nd and long almost every possesion.
As much as Jordy and Greg were missed, I think John Kuhn being out effected the offenses ability to execute the game plan more.
Defense played well, special teams came up with a big block.
At the end of the season this game will show up as a W. That's all that counts.
Time to move on, Cardinals up next, I'm betting Packers will show a completely different look on Sunday.
edit: Of the 29 1st down situations, Alex Green ran the ball 14 times.
Basically half of the time, not as one-sided as I first thought.
Still Green gained 5 yds on one occasion, 7 on another, the other 12 carries were for 3yds or less.
I'll go back to my original thought, Mike had a plan and he stuck with it.

You know what. I like sloppy games. And if we win those sloppy games it puts a bigger chip on your shoulder. I'd rather win and improve as a team rather than lose and have to improve as a team. It kinda puts our team in that mood where they have a hey we won, but could of played better mantality. I think we'll play better against the Cards because of this.

Mike McCarthy said:I concluded our team meeting – after being direct about the facts of the game, more importantly – (by saying), ‘Let’s quit walking around like we lost the damn game.’ We’re 5-3, whether you like it or not. We’re going to get better. That’s where we’re going.
