There were 27 defensive players selected in April’s draft before the Packers made cornerback Casey Hayward the 62nd overall pick, but those in charge of selecting the league’s defensive rookie of the month decided that none of them had a better October.

Kid deserves it imo.

Yes. 4 INTs and 3 games + 8 tackles his last game. Pretty impressive stuff.

He has stepped up in a major way. I couldn't be more happy for him.

I'm happy for him, happy for Ted Thompson picking him up and especially happy for the Packers family to have such a talented guy on the team. I really hope he can keep up playing like he did this month, well deserved award for the kid.

Casey Heyward is a great surprise.

Every year there always seems to be 1 or 2 of Ted's picks that surprise everyone.

His cover skills seem to already be in the excellent range, love his swagger.

Cb's have to have short memories and be just cocky enough to intimidate most wr's.

So far Heyward has shown he has what it takes.

The original title was poorly written. It has since been corrected.
