29, 19, and 7. In what order are these numbers? Witten was targeted 22 times on Sunday alone. Does the number 29 imply that he only received 7 targets otherwise? Perhaps I'm just confused. Either way, as with any statistic alone, the full story isn't told. It's one thing to drop passes when there is still a lot of production. We all make mistakes but what's often most important is how we respond to those mistakes. It's another to drop a substantial number of passes in key situations in addition to producing very little (and getting paid a lot). But I forgot, Finley is soooo feared that he requires double coverage on every single play and makes everyone else's life as a receiver easy. Finley gets such great separation in the passing game, that he would take over a game if single covered.  |

Just put the franchise tag on Jennings, by then we'll know if Cobb can replace him. I'm probably one of the few in here that hasn't given up on YOTTO, but I'm close. Lately, it looks to me like he has a little more burst. Maybe his knee is finally feeling better. |

The tweeting and normally talkative Finley is, apparently, content to let his game, and the Packers' victory, do all the talking. But he would compliment receiver James Jones on that acrobatic 50-50 ball in the end zone which Jones hauled down for a 32-yard touchdown and the early 7-0 lead.
“Oh that was sweet. James has made a ton of great plays this year and he’s having one of those great breakout seasons,” said Finley. He added that Jones shows that ability when he plays pickup basketball as well.
“I’ve seen him jumping up and dunking, grabbing balls over people.”
As for getting the running game going (152 yards today), or the Packers aquiring 435 net yards on offense, Finley was back in to cliché mode:
“It was a great day for everybody. I was just glad to be a part of it.” |
