This season sure has that 2010 feel to it. I try not to whine about injuries because I like to see what we have playing behind the starters. Brad Jones just might have found himself inside, and I don't think we've missed Woodson that much have we? We are still scoring over 20 a game without Jennings and a lackluster Finley. Is there any doubt we have the best GM in the business?
If fans of other teams read our forum, I'm sure they would call us a bunch of spoiled pussies, which of course - we are. |

We can't lose another T.
And without Clay, Moses Walden and Zombo are gonna have to really step up. If Neal does a Cullen Jenkins impersonation, that would go a long way towards helping them out. |

Yo guys let's take it down a notch. The last time we had to battle through this many injuries we had a bunch of guys step up and we won the fucking superbowl. So far this year we've lost a bunch of guys and we've had a bunch of guys step up again...you know what's left. |

We may have had a bunch of injuries in 2010 also, but they were mostly isolated on defense, leaving the offense able to cover for them. Having both sides losing the number of players is much harder.
The good thing, is 2010, when we lost players, they were gone for the duration, this year we will get most of them back before season end. |

How many times has an NFL team been decimated with injuries and then won it all? Not very many. How many times has a contending team failed to make the playoffs or lost in the playoffs due in part to injuries? nearly every single year. 2010 was something special but it is in the past. Don't look for it to happen again because what they did was very rare. |

In an effort to see the positive in this, now the coaching staff will be able to evaluate our OLB depth and starter opposite CMIII nearly twice as often. |

With all of the injuries, the team has done far better than I gave them credit for, but damn, how much more do we have to go through?! Get well soon, guys!
I'm not being a turd with this question, I'm really not sure how it works....so here goes...
As far as the "2nd opinion" deal. I'm guessing that the first opinion is the team physician? And when they don't like his diagnosis, they go to an outside source? Just wondering. And thank God Jennings did so...a hernia is a tad different than your garden variety "groin" injury I would think.

My guess is the team doc takes a look at it and then sends the player to a specialist. That is the first opinion. The 2nd one is another specialist. There are times when the team doc makes a diagnosis but I doubt he does so when surgery is required. He prob deals with pulled muscles and sprains and things like that. As Gump would say, "Coughs due to colds". |

Nick Perry's 2nd Opinion is for his Wrist... wrist didn't show up on the injury report until last week. Lifting Injury maybe?Quote:Perry has sat out the last three games because of the knee, but he apparently has been progressing normally in his rehabilitation. No timeline has been given for his return from the knee injury, but McCarthy had said a week ago Perry felt he was getting close. Perry wore a cast on his left wrist after injuring it against the Bears until he hurt his knee against Houston. He was able to function with the cast on his wrist because he still had use of his fingers. Edited by member Tuesday, November 6, 2012 1:25:34 PM(UTC)

2010 was something special but it is in the past. Don't look for it to happen again because what they did was very rare. You beat me to it, exactly my thinking. We were extremely lucky in '10. Sure it could happen again, but the odds are very, very slim at best. We need to get some of our key players back healthy and have them and the rest of the team stay that way. |

Yes, we won the Superbowl shitting ourselves for the first half of the year. That doesn't mean we should go out and expect to shit ourselves. |
