If he snares 3 or more TD's before seasons end, I wouldn't be shocked to see Jermichael...

Finley

Sorry, dropped his last name, released or traded.

Wouldn't shock me either, especially if DJ Williams makes it through puberty.

I think he has the potential to be an ALL around TE. Blocking, Route Running, and Catching it.

I'm sure after the bye Mike McCarthy will showcase this kid against the Lions and I predict he will shine!!! [happy]

They activated Zombo before Quarless... and had Zombo as a healthy scratch. And there are four other TEs... so I think Quarless is going to mainly on STs for a while. Also all the TEs have been having problems with drops, as well as Quarless has in the past. I don't expect much from him this season... but if he can figure out tracking and catching the ball, he could become a VERY VERY talented starting TE someday.

I don't expect much. I hope he does shine but I am not betting the beehive on it.

You never know he could be this years James Starks coming off the pup.

I don't expect to see much from but I would LOVE to for the exact reason you mentioned. Finley hasn't earned that 2nd year of his contract and I'd rather find a cheaper alternative for his roster spot.

if he can run without a gimp, i'd say it's a success.

that was a nasty boo-boo.

Would love to see him show Finley up so we can drop his sorry ass after the season.
I doubt it happens but fingers crossed on my end.

He could be solid, but no TE on our roster has the ceiling that Finley has.

But yeah, what's the use if you're never actually going to reach it.

I hope he'll just catch what's thrown his way, runs routes, catches ball in traffic... Just be a TE, rather than a weapon. Have that safety blanket, rather than that 5th man deep.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have a Gronkowski or Graham, but I'd rather have a Fasano or up-to-speed Quarless than a tier-3-Gronkowski in Finley.

I think tight end is one of the weaker positions on this Packers roster.

Jermichael Finley is underachieving successfully now.
DJ Williams has done nothing.
Andrew Quarless pre-injury wasn't doing anything to warrant us to believe he can unseat Finley upon return.
Ryan Taylor- pure special teams

Crabtree- our best tight end right now. <- Says something.

A little premature but I would love for the Packers to pick a tight end like Tyler Eifert (Notre Dame) in next years draft. Obviously other things would have to happen for this to work but Eifert is someone who already possesses NFL talent and would develop.

Quarless was really coming on imo.

He was always a pass catching TE, but had really learned to block very well.

I felt like the dude had matured off the field and rounded out his game.

He never had much of an impact when he was healthy so I'm not really counting on much from him.

If we lose another tackle, we're gonna need a TE who can block.

Wouldn't stepping up and filling in when Finley went down and helping win a SB be making an impact?

No, "filling in" is not making an impact, saying his contributions that year were an impact is being extremely generous. For being a full time starter that season he really didn't do much to be excited about. I know a lot of players that Ted drafts tend to improve over their 2nd and 3rd seasons so he may come in and help but considering he's been rehabbing and not really practicing I'm not expecting much this year.

He was a rookie.

Since then dude has matured AND really come on as a blocker. He's not just a pass catching TE anymore.

I like him.

Quarless has been a blocker for a while now... even back in his college days he was a blocker and Penn State ran the ball more than passed it and ran from a pro set which asked him to block. He's blocking has been fine. And to be a pass catching anything... you have to catch it... which is where he has been struggling...

He seem to adjust well after he starts adjusting to the ball... but always seems to starts his adjustment late... which is why I wonder if he has a vision problem and struggles finding/following the ball in the air. Some people need glasses or contacts and don't know it... there vision has been good enough to get by with out someone noticing it (or family didn't have the money for them) but need them to see 20/20.

Quarless helped a lot in the Super Bowl run, with his blocking, speed and dropping problem, Mike McCarthy used him a lot for blocking and being the decoy... such as sending him deep down the field taking a LBer and getting attention from the Safety made for an open crossing pattern for one of the WRs to catch a 7 yard pass and get some extra yardage after that.

Zero2Cool (6m) : Adams being covered by CB1 is equal Jordy aging, and Adams coming into his own.
Zero2Cool (7m) : Yep, offense lost the game, not the defense. I still want a new DC though.
uffda udfa (24m) : Davante Adams got opposing team's top CB last two weeks not Jordy.
uffda udfa (25m) : Datone Jones will play for every team in league signs with Niners. His 4th team.
beast (6h) : Yeah it's weird, if anything goes wrong the defense and OL get blamed, even if passing game fault
hardrocker950 (8h) : But I put it mostlt on the offense and poor playcalling
hardrocker950 (8h) : I have seen the defense take a lot of flak over the loss..
Cheesey (9h) : Rodgers would have hit open guys. The game plan wouldn't have killed us. Less 3 and outs, and maybe some scores.
beast (10h) : Rodgers wouldn't of abandon attepting to get the ball to Nelson and Adams.
Zero2Cool (10h) : Rodgers with that game plan would have came up short too.
beast (11h) : Yeah the Packers defense got wore out... being on the field so long. Giving longer breathers than 3&out would of helped a lot IMO.
Cheesey (12h) : There wouldn't have been so many 3 and outs, thus keeping our D off the field.
Cheesey (12h) : True, but with the low score we would have had a chance with Rodgers behind center.
Zero2Cool (12h) : Brees is a damn good QB, not giving Capers a pass, not even close.
Zero2Cool (12h) : Saints kicked Packers ass with Rodgers too.
Cheesey (12h) : That's just it. Rodgers needs a DEFENSE as well. And without him, there is NO chance.
beast (14h) : Just fire everyone! Rodgers can do it without them! Hell trade for the healthy Browns players!
Cheesey (16h) : Capers needs to GO. So do players that can't cut it.
Zero2Cool (16h) : Capers presser summed up? INjuries are why we suck. (shut up, coach and adapt)
Zero2Cool (16h) : nearly crapped myself hearing dom capers talk, forgot to close the tab after mccarthy haha
Zero2Cool (16h) : McCarthy said the communication was not good enough on defense yesterday. Injuries in secondary have complicated substitution patterns.
Zero2Cool (16h) : McCarthy again says "I believe in him"... sorry, BS, we saw how you believe in him yesterday.
Zero2Cool (17h) : @The_Green_Gold Highest graded players Kenny Clark & Blake Martinez. It wouldn't be possible to grade an entire defense
Porforis (17h) : Well, it WAS clean until someone 'shouted' in it...
Zero2Cool (17h) : QB Brett Hundley when targeting a WR against Saints: 6-for-15, 54 yards.
Zero2Cool (17h) : clean?
