Checked just now. It occurred in the regular season finale and was MCL and LCL. Oh wow, and MCL AND an LCL? Those are the ligaments on the inside and outside of the knee. That's very interesting/odd that one injury could injure both. It's usually one or the other. Did it say anything about what grade the sprains were? An MCL injury can be one of the most painful knee injuries. I'm still guessing it was not worse than a grade 2 since I read his rehabilitation had been progressing nicely. A grade 3 or full tare of either would almost undoubtedly land him on IR. |

Well that question was answered well before Monday. Quote:tom silverstein @TomSilverstein
#Packers have activated TE Andrew Quarless to the 53-man roster and put rookie LB Nick Perry on injured reserve, according to an NFL source. |

I always thought lining finley and quarless up on opposite sides would be a coverage nightmare for defenses. both should be a mismatch. |

I'm a Quarless fan and think he's got a ton of potential... but he's got a big fault... trouble catching the ball... just like the other TEs this season. He's probably mainly going to be a ST guy even if he's healthy, that or a blocker like Crabtree (but much faster).

Quarless seemed to have really matured when he went down. Coming into the league, They were the same height, Quarless had about 10lbs, 40 - Finley 4.65 Quarless 4.56, Bench Finley 20 reps Quarless 29", Vertical Finley 27.5" Quarless 32, Broad jump Finley 9'9" Quarless 9'11" |

That's certainly not a huge difference though. |

Not to mention he's coming off a MAJOR injury. It will be extremely impressive if he's able to return to his 'old form' anytime soon. I imagine it will take at least a year of being somewhat healthy and practicing to come close to getting back to where he was. Of course, it's possible he may never return to that same level. |

Even so, he could still surpass Finley. |

I know he hasn't looked great and is only 6'2, but I think he will have a much bigger role in this offense if Finley leaves, and may thrive in it. Height isn't a huge deal. After all, Aaron Hernandez is only 6'1, and Dustin Keller is only 6'2. There are several other good tight ends that are only 6'3. Williams just needs to continue to develop. At worst, I think he will eventually make a really good #2. |

Mike Daniels is 6'0'' and he's played great for us! It's not all about size. look at Darren Sproles and MJD
