Opinion on when injured players will be back in the lineup.
Charles Woodson - collarbone - week 7 - should be back around week 13
Clay Matthews III - hamstring - week 9 - should be back week 12
Cedric Benson - lisfranc - week 5 - eligible to return on week 14
Greg Jennings - abdomen surgery - before week 9 - estimating a return around week 14
Mason Crosby - broken vagaina - week 11 - return unknown
Andrew Quarless - knee blown up - last year - returning week 12 or week 13
I'm thinking they are all back for week 15 and have three full games to build continuity for a strong post season push.

some may be back sooner but it will take a few weeks to get back into "football shape". Week 15 sounds about right.

Did the Crosby "injury" really occur in week 11?... or has it been going on since the Indy game?
Also, is he included in the back by week 15 estimate?

Week 11 is the only time I've seen Mason Crosby visibly dejected, so yes, that is when the injury occurred. And yes, I feel he'll bounce back on or prior to week 15. The Packers are going to make a helluva run at that time and make the NFL their bitches!

Greg Jennings said:Today was a big step for me. Whether or not I play this week, that’s yet to be determined. As far as health, I want see how I feel tomorrow and how I respond to things today. I’m just trying to get out there as soon as possible. That’s my prognosis. I don’t really have a set timetable. Me personally, I don’t feel like I’m a long shot. Playing it safe, I guess you could say I’m a long shot.

jsonline said:Sam Shields wouldn't point to one play or one accident. But, as it turns out, the ankle injury that has sidelined the Packers cornerback since Oct. 14 is worse than originally thought.
On Wednesday, coach Mike McCarthy said Shields had a "setback" and would be out "a couple weeks."
"So, he’s not making the improvement that we hoped," McCarthy said. "It’s a little more serious injury than we anticipated."

was asked about Crosby's vagina injury during the post-game press conference.

responded: "Mason's pad level wasn't low enough, we've got to get that fixed..."
Sorry about that. I couldn't help it...

Finally, someone uses the pad level in an original context!

... or in other words... Davon House and Casey Hayward are playing well enough that we don't need Sam Shields... <-- coach speak 101

Seems like there is a little confusion with regards to Sam's injury, like the Packers playing games with the injury report.
Quote:One certainty is that starting
cornerback Sam Shields will remain out for a fifth consecutive game due to an ankle injury.
"Sam's had a setback and it's going be a couple weeks," McCarthy said. "He's not making the improvement that we hoped. It's a little more serious injury than we anticipated."
When Shields was approached in the locker room about his apparent setback, he wasn't too sure what McCarthy was talking about.
"I didn't do anything (to aggravate it)," Shields said. "I'm just not ready. We're just going day-by-day right now, week-by-week. I don't know."Shields appeared to be walking fine and even jumped up and down to show that his ankle was functioning well. Shields was a limited participant in practice last week but was officially ruled out of Sunday's game on Wednesday after sitting out the morning practice.

This is starting to become a bit of a pathetic trend.. now they are unsure of where Benson is at? Are you kidding me.. can you trust any medical report coming out of GB?
Quote:Green Bay - Running back Cedric Benson of the Green Bay Packers said Wednesday
it's still possible that he will need foot surgery, which would end his first season with the team.
Benson has an appointment scheduled later in the month with Robert Anderson, a foot and ankle specialist in Charlotte, N.C.
"It's still a lingering possibility," Benson said, referring to surgery. "And that's not cool when you're trying to get back to play.
"I'm going to a doctor who they trust. I'm going to have a one-on-one with him."
Benson, who was injured Oct. 7 in Indianapolis, has been on the temporary injured reserve list for six weeks. He would be eligible to return Dec. 9 against Detroit.
There are three types of Lisfranc injuries. It was reported by ESPN that he suffered a Lisfranc fracture, but Benson said he still wasn't sure what type of Lisfranc injury he has on his left foot.

Now I'm questioning whether we'll even see Jennings within the next few games.

It makes me wonder if we're playing games with the injury reports or if our medical staff is so fucking incompetent that we don't find out the real injury until 6 weeks later when the original diagnosis should have been fucking healed by now.
feel free to ignore this post if it makes no sense or can be easily disproven because right now im blinded by a fit of rage

After Wednesday's practice.
Greg Jennings said:There were some routes I was able to push it. I pretty much pushed myself to see how much I can take. As far as speed, I got up to full speed on a few routes. Felt really great. My wind is horrible right now so I’m trying to get my wind under wraps. But other than that, I felt great.

it has to be playing games with the report. SF didn't announce Smith not being able to play until Monday. They had to have known. the Bears are not not very t is all they candid Cutler THIS WEEK. I think many of the coaches try to push it as far as they can. the information is greatly lacking. Yeah the guy has an ankle injury but that is all they try to say.
from a fan's perspective it would be nice to know more but from a coach trying to win games I wouldn't want to say that much. They don't want to give too much info to the other team.

Mike McCarthy said:Charles is probably, I would think maybe next week would be my guess there. If you ask Charles, he’s probably pushing to play this week. There’s some more testing that you have to do to make sure he’s cleared. He has not been cleared yet.

Yeah, I think Charles and Clay make their returns for Bear week... that would give them 3 games (@CHI, TEN, @MIN) before the playoffs to shake off any cobwebs. The game against the Bears will be plenty meaningful, especially with it being in Chicago. We could use their help there for sure. I am really looking forward to both of them returning to the lineup.
