Smith had the best passer rating coming into this game.. so yeah, apparently he sucks at it.
Look.. I hate the Niners.. have ever since Joe Cool.. couldn't stand him. But I respected him and Bill Walsh immensely. Carmen Policy and the Yorks.. they can get bent. Steve Young.. screw him. Past John Taylor and Ronnie Lott.. I have little "love" for them. Dana Stubblefield maybe.
I want them to fail.. but it is about the fundamentals of football... they do many things well.. that improves their chances game in and out. Yesterday.. the Giants took away the run much like we did to the Texans... it forced them to be one dimensional. And Smith struggled. But I seen the same guy shine at times in the same situation. Lets see how this plays out.
I don't think he is anything more than an game manager, you seem to take things to the extreme. If someone says he is effective.. you take it to as if they are touting him a Pro Bowler. If someone says we need balance, you seem to take it to the extreme of run first. Trim the peaks and diminish the valleys there... lol.
Your chirping about your choice.. they are the same type of team. Same type of QB. I shall reserve my chirping until later. ;)
Good stuff Pack.
Yes, the Texans are the same as the Niners. BUT, the NFC has elite teams. I think the Texans are the only one in the AFC. That slants the odds in my favor.
And a little bit about gambling, it's all about playing the odds. I know not the future.
Smith played his best game I've ever seen him play against the Giants last year in the Playoffs. He has a strong arm and a tough body, and can scramble. He has the physical tools and surprisingly a genius IQ (no, I'm not kidding). So I will give him credit for what he does have.
But as a gambler, I'd put up more than 16 QBs in his situation to outperform him. And that includes Jay Cutler, who everyone here seems to hate. Cutler won me $20 a few weeks ago. I actually wanted the Giants over the Niners but VR decided to take the Bengals over the Browns and that's the game we bet on yesterday.
As for taking things to the extreme, I wouldn't be me if I didn't do that. I take pride in it. [rockon]

Bump.
The bet is Pack93z vs Zombieslayer for a shot glass. Niners vs Texans. Whomever makes it farther.
Unfortunately for me, Harbaugh has finally come to his senses and will be starting Kaepernick. I said several years ago "the Niners will NEVER win a Super Bowl with Alex Smith" and I stick by it. I actually like Kaepernick. Smith may have a genius IQ, but he plays like an idiot. Kaepernick on the other hand plays pretty smart, way smarter than a 2nd year player should be playing.
