Babin is a 4-3 hand in the dirt, pin your ears back, light in the ass defensive end. No, he doesn't fit our defense.

Cullen's taint was offended so he wouldn't have signed with us. Let it go people.

The Eagles suck. Yet they are letting this guy go. So why would he be a good pickup for the Packers?

Wait.. we couldn't use a guy that between 2010 and 2011.. had 30.5 Sacks? We couldn't adjust the play book on passing downs to line him up with his hand down and have him let loose?

We sometimes are too stuck on conventions to not make room for a football player.

That said.. Babin has been nicked up all season and was making prime dollars. Waiver claim makes little sense.

But if he hits the open market and for the right $.. I am sure Dom could find a way to use a guy that has proven he can rush the passer.

5.5 Sacks is good for second on our team currently.. by 2.5 Sacks.

Yeah.. no reason to entertain that.

Every time you post, I read them about ten times. Might have something to do with avatar though.

Don't hate the messenger!!!! LOL

I really don't know much about Babin, just saw the report on tv and figured this thread would be a good place to put the report.

His numbers are pretty impressive the last couple of years.

I'm just remembering a guy named Howard Green who Ted picked up in 2010, after being released by The Jets, without him down the stretch and in The Superbowl, things might have been different.

Forget which analyst it was, but in his report he said Babin would be comfortable in the 4-3 or 3-4 lineup.

Again I just put this out here for discusion, will be interesting if Ted takes a shot if he gets a chance.

I don't hate you Buckeye - I very seldom ever agree with you, but I like you just fine.

If Babin clears waivers, we might take a look. There is no way we will be paying that contract though.

Yeah, Babin is clearly a better pass rusher than Walden, and probably Moses when healthy (at least for this season). As a result, line him up on passing downs and he's likely the Packers best pure pass rusher when CM3 is out. If unclaimed, it'd be nice to kick the tires, but no way it actually happens.

I don't see anybody for Oline that would be better than anybody we have.

Defensively, Babin could play a role for the right price. What is the status of Hargrove? We had him here for camp and let him go. He has to be eligible to play, either his suspension would be up, or not even started.

Definitely the new nominee for "best avatar".

None of the above. It wouldn't have been a wasted vote. Obama and Romney -- Those were the wasted votes.

Does Jason Babin want (or willing) to be OLB or DE in a 3 - 4? Has he cleared waivers? If he clears waivers, do you think he'd transition to the 3 - 4 better than Aaron Kampman?

I think the Patriots would probably try to pick him up. They don't seem to rely on scheme so much and more wisely use players to their strength. I don't think Dom Capers does this on defense as well as the Patriots.

Here is a bit of food for thought... Capers was in Houston when they traded up and drafted Babin. Think

LOL... should have scanned PFTalk before posting.. they are reporting the Jags claimed Babin. Nugget pointless.

Guess we'll just have to go with what we have. When Matthews comes back, I'd like to see a little more of Moses opposite him instead of Walden.

Interesting. Told the Packers did not put a claim in but planned on kicking the tires on Babin had he cleared waivers.
