so Benson, Sherrod, Bulaga, Bishop, Perry, DJ Smith, all end up on IR.

Jennings, Woodson and Matthews miss a significant portion of the season.

Kuhn, Shields, Nelson have missed multiple weeks as well.

wut the hell is going on up there?

There were some rumblings about it being used on Bishop, that he could be good to go by the playoffs... but I really doubt it being a torn hammy and all.

Bishop maybe.. but he probably wouldn't have been ready til late Jan or Feb. ** edit - added quote.

Quote:
"I foresee me being close to 100 percent, I would say, February-ish," Bishop said.

Not really.. Woodson maybe so that we could have his roster spot open. Or Jennings.. they have been locking up roster spots.

How many teams in the league that lost that many starters would be 7-4 right now? We had it worse in 2010, but we had a more solid O-line then. Should be interesting how this all plays out. There's no crying in football boys - time to jump on our QB's back and let him carry us again. Right now, Matthews is the biggest loss - Jennings being second.

I didn't see Benson coming back and being effective.

Time to call Ryan Grant!!!

Or did someone else already pick him up?

He should have a good 10 weeks left in that old body.

Or even 8-3.

You can almost set your watch by this team being decimated with injuries. Every EVEN year it happens. 2012, 2010, 2008, 2006.

It's not whether you get knocked down, it's whether you get back up again.

Bishop wasn't eligible for the reinstatement rule because he wasn't part of opening day 53man roster.

The only benefit would have been possibly being able to use on Woodson opening a roster spot for to bring in somebody maybe.

I suspect there's more to RG's story than we're hearing. I'm not sure he recovered completely from his injury or that he has a lot of gas left in the tank. Washington signed him, and then cut him a few weeks later to sign RB Keiland Williams. That says a lot right there.

Actually, there was an exemption for those hurt around the time of the new ruling..

http://www.nfl.com/news/...-decastro-desmond-bishop

Quote:
In future years, only players that are placed on IR after teams make their cuts to a 53-man roster will be eligible. For this year only, the league made an exception to the rule because initial roster cuts have already started. The Green Bay Packers, for instance, could "reactivate" linebacker Desmond Bishop from IR before Aug. 31 at 9 p.m. ET. Bishop must remain on the Packers' 53-man roster through the league-mandated cutdown period and would then be eligible for the roster exemption.
