Historic win today to clinch the division and likely end the employment of a great head coach.

So, do we make him an offer?

I thank heaven and earth for what Don has done for us, but...

If Don takes a head coaching job somewhere? Maybe maybe maybe. But if he's willing to stay in green bay, no need for a coaching change on defense.

He has been the last few years. He's gotten to a superbowl, won 2 or 3 division titles. and helped brought in Cutler,Peppers, and Marshall, all impact players. Only thing that's really killing the bears has been not having an Offensive line and 2 or 3 good recievers. Cutlers not horrible. He just makes some bonehead plays , and Capers has had his number every time.

Lovie is an underrated coach. I wouldn't mind having him on our team. But 1. he would change our scheme which will probably take some time getting all of the personal to fit the 4-3 again. And 2. he would get another head coach job before becoming a defensive cordinater. Sorta like Andy reid will being doing.

he brought cutler in...end of story as far as i'm concerned.

well that & he stands on the sidelines with that dumb look on his face every week. lol.

i wouldn't want him. he's changed alot since he first got to the bears. he had bravado, confidence, & was ready to go. now he looks like a bump on a log, no fire, no nothing.
blech.

Jerry Angelo is whom actually brought Jay Cutler in. I'm not sure if Lovie Smith was for or against the decision behind the scenes, but it was Angelo, not Smith.

Lovie may be a solid DC but I think GB would do better looking elsewhere should DOM move on. And it is not b/c he was the Bears coach. It is b/c it is going to take him a while to get his head back on straight after he gets sent packing.

Lets be real.. sometimes Mike McCarthy has a dumb look on his face too on the sidelines. Mike just has a little bit more fire.. which is what you need.

Lovie has the ultimate poker face and he has no soul. I don't know if that leads to the downfall but...ya..

Please God, let the Packers win another Super Bowl this season, they have been tested with injuries all season and have shown the character of a champion.

PS - please allow 5 year extensions for Lovie Smith and Mike Tice. In return I'll try and be nice to VR.

Amen!

What does Lovie actually do? The defense has been called by Rivera or Marinelli. Lovie's DC time in St. Louis wasn't very good. He might be good LBers coach if we lose Greene.

So, if LovieBoat does get canned, how many coaches does that make that the Pack has had a direct affect on their unemployment?

I was thinking about that yesterday. There were 2 in 2010 fired right after the GB game. I suppose others were fired after the season ended. (Not necessarily in 2010 only.)
