If it weren't for Aaron this would've been a blow out. I'm pretty fucking sure he didn't want to "stat whore" his own stats, he wanted to win the game.

I don't blame him yet - so much goes into when he can get the ball out (routes run, coverage, execution such as players' dripping, etc.) before I lay blame on Aaron.

Needless knee-jerk reaction.

Yeah, Nerd obviously fails to understand that without Rodgers buying time like he often does, the Packers score many fewer points throughout the season. It's not always possible to instantly unload the ball. For now, that is Aaron Rodgers game, and it's not going to change. Notice on several of the Vikings blitz calls, he instantly threw the ball to the open guy. It's just not always possible, especially when facing constant cover 2 style defenses.

On the list of players to blame for this game, Rodgers comes in around 53rd.

There continues to be guys wide open underneath, but Rodgers just won't get them the ball.

Rodgers gets greedy, no doubt. What he fails to realize is that he does not have the protection that Tom Brady does. Time to load up on O-lineman Ted.

Really... the guy played nearly a perfect game.

Look.. I dislike the QB as much as anyone.. but one can hardly pick apart the game he played today. Moved up in the pocket a number of times.. and threw two out of bounds.

Look I get it... you expect perfection, but the guy played as good of a game as can be expected. My opinion.

The couple he held it.. there were guys open over the top in man coverage.. sometimes the defense wins.

I don't buy it. This may happen at times, but it's going to happen to everyone. Underneath players are often the #3-4 or even 5th in a QBs progressions. As a result, Rodgers is not always going to be able to get there. In fact, due to Rodgers buying time, he's able to scan the field more than most other QBs.

There is absolutely no question that without Rodgers buying time like he often does, this Packers team would not be as good as they are. Yes, that will result in some bad plays, but my prior sentence stands.

you can't blame Aaron Rodgers for wanting to take a shot down field when they were down and needed to score points. They vikings secondary was in a shambles so the opportunity was there.

This is the NFL not a playground. He has progressions to go through. We may see a back some somebody uncovered, because we don't know where rodgers is in the progressions.

I believe this issue is more play design, than Rodgers whoring. If he was really worried about stats he would dump the ball off more because to raise his completion percentage.

Aaron Rodgers
Total yards #8 (with more than 4000)
Completion % #3 (250 or more attempts)
TDs #2
Fewest Ints #1 (400 or more attempts) #2 (300 or more attempts)
QB rating #1.

So what part of this is stat whoring?
What would GB's record be if Aaron Rodgers was not in the game? I am willing to say they would not even be a .500 team. Let the man do his job and get off his case.

I too would like to see Aaron take the 5, 8 or whatever yards are there on first or second down. On third down is where buying time is important to get the needed yards. It keeps our D off the field and their D on the field.

As others have mentioned, it has everything to do with play design and execution. I noticed multiple quick passes against the Vikings; several slants, and multiple hot routes directly to the area where the blitzer's vacated. It's no where near as simple as Aaron just "dumping it off," especially without a guy like Darren Sproles. I thought he did a good job of doing that on Sunday. If the dump-off or check down pass is third or forth in the progression, he's not always going to get to them, and they may not be open anyway (and if they are, it may not be enough for the first down).

Carefully and slowly step back from the crack-pipe.

Without Aaron Rodgers' magnificent skills, the Green Bay Packers would be in the absolute basement of the NFL.
