Looks like he is headed there if Mike says he's got a season ending injury:

That's a bummer. I had high hopes this kid would really contribute during the playoffs. Guess we'll have to wait till next season, and I hope his recovery goes well. Now, who do they replace this player with?

Did Worthy tear his ACL or what? Hopefully he can be back healthy for training camp, but this doesn't sound good.

Iirc i thought it looked like he might have broken his leg a la Derrick Sherrod.

Hope he's ok.

Dang it.. good rotational player that is getting valuable experience under his belt... as Dodd notes.. hopefully with rehab/surgery he will be ready for Training Camp.

I wonder if guys like Muir or Hargrove get a call to come back.. we could use another body or two.

According to the NFL's rulebook, "clubs participating in the playoffs are permitted to sign free agents throughout the postseason, but are limited to a total of four free agent signings, including players on other clubs' Practice Squads, during the period that begins at 4 p.m., New York time, on the Wednesday after the final regular season weekend."

Teams can not sign more than two such players during any week of the postseason.

We have six.. but I don't know that is "enough" over the course of a playoff game. One injury and we are short cycling the rotation and somewhat limited in Short Yardage situations.

Quote:
Worthy played 467 of the Packers' 991 defensive snaps (47 percent) this season in games in which he was active. Of Green Bay's defensive linemen, only full-time starters B.J. Raji and Ryan Pickett were on the field more.

The Packers now have six healthy defensive linemen heading into the playoffs, with Raji, Pickett, C.J. Wilson, Mike Neal rookie Mike Daniels and recent practice-squad call-up Jordan Miller.

I thought Daniels was actually playing better than Worthy. Sucks to lose him though.

We'll get by with 5. We're actually thinner at linebacker, cause when Matthews takes a play or two off, we just have a body out there.

It isn't about being better at this point.. it is about having a effective rotation to keep guys fresh. Now.. we either shorten the rotation or we put a guy with limited experience in the said rotation and the trickle down effects of that.

More two down sets.. or less dynamic pressure packages.. etc.

Does this mean that Time of Possession becomes a little more important?

It's always been the most important in any game.

While this bites, I don't think it is a major problem. We just basically did a swap with CJ who we just got back. That leaves us with 6 to rotate.
The world needs ditch diggers to Danny!!!

Hey folks, John Madden here with today's football tip! You know what the most important thing in any game is? Scoring more points than the other team! You see, if you take your score right here and subtract it from the other team's score right there and you get a positive number, OH HO HO you're in a lot of trouble! But see, if you take their score here and subtract it from your score over there, if you've got a positive number then break out the turkey legs folks because you won the game!
