The key to this game, is to not play like week one. They can't play thinking they can just run routes into the teeth of the cover 2 shell and majically come open, while the pass rush is getting after rodgers. McCarthy never adjusted that game. He actually kept trying to do that for most of the season. Week after week, defenses threw the cover 2 shell, and week after week, McCarthy kept running plays into it instead of taking the short routes which are always available. The last few weeks, they have finally started to take what is given more. shorter passes, screens and check downs. Let our skill players get the extra yards and force the defense to adjust to us instead of dictating.
The world needs ditch diggers to Danny!!!

Jason Wilde and Rob Demovsky have chosen the 49ers to win.

Quote:
San Francisco 49ers Pro Bowl defensive end Justin Smith looks to be on track to play in Saturday's NFC divisional playoff game against the Green Bay Packers, despite a partially torn left triceps.

Smith is listed as probable on the team's official injury report, which was released Friday. Smith previously had said he would attempt to play with the injury, sources told ESPN.

A four-time Pro Bowler, Smith suffered the injury against the New England Patriots on Dec. 16 and has not played since.

This is not a surprise. But I have to wonder how effective he will really be. It may be to GB's advantage to have him out there at less than peak efficiency instead of someone else.

The biggest thing I'm worried about in this matchup is Harbaugh. Giving him two weeks to think up crazy and wacky schemes and looks is what scares me but I think this team is peaking at the right time. Our offense is much more balanced than it was earlier in the year and Rodgers will be playing with a chip on his shoulder. The defense and Capers were snakebitten from last year in the first matchup and were simply trying to limit the score and yards gained. The 49ers shred our pass D last time with stuff underneath and I don't think that will happen this time.

Green Bay 27
San Francisco 17

Run the ball, big time. That, and make the picks... 2-4 INTs by our secondary will be a big plus! I'm hoping for the best.

This game will come down to how well our offensive line plays along with McCarthey's play calling. If we go 5 wide and empty backfield and Aaron gets pounded and Mike doesn't adjust, then we will lose, but if they keep Aaron clean, it might be a long game for the 9ers.

It is as cold as it can get in San Francisco/Northern California.
Low 40's for the game.
No wind, which is great.
Game played at low tide for a dry field.
Fog will not get heavy.

The Packers could not have received any better weather conditions.

If the Packers Defense steps up they can win. Rodgers must be more quick in decisions and ball release than first game.
