Z2C- Not sure what was up, but apparently GDC got invaded by some 49er fans. dlam had an earlier post that had mentioned #reddit-49ers, and then mentioned below again. That's what happens when you don't have your channels +r or +i.
My guess is doing that would be much too much of a hassle for a channel that is run from a website. Your average bear would no longer be able to use the channel. Aside from zero being there to kick/ban those guys from the channel, there is nothing he can really do. |

I had left sometime in the 3rd quarter. That issue can be resolved. We can put a password on the channel. I am pretty sure that no one would notice except those trying to enter with an IRC client instead of the website. The password would be available here for those few who prefer their own IRC client. |

I didn't care that they were there--if I didn't want to see their comments I could just /ignore them.
I had thought that Zero had set it up so that you had to have posted a certain number of times to get access to GDC, and this made me think it either wasn't working properly or these guys had figured a way around it.

The GameDay Chat works exactly as it is supposed to and is not failing and no one found a way around it. The restriction to the GameDay Chat feature is not to restrict people from entering the chat room. The actual chat room can be entered through IRC client, but when doing so, the person does not get the benefits of entering through GameDay Chat feature from the website. |
