Bulaga has experience with it, and Barclay played well enough at RT that I dont think its out of the question..
I know I am just looking for any way to get Newhouse off the field :-k

I could be wrong, but didn't Newhouse have a better year than anyone on the line?

I think Newhouse was improved, but had some horrible lapses. I am actually excited to see how they develop Andrew Datko. He could wind up playing LT for years if all goes well.

while Newhouse diddn't have any "cheif-like" games this year where he was spanked on live TV, I still think he's a low-end starting LT.

I wouldn't move either player, but especially Bulaga. He's found a home at right tackle and it doesn't make sense to disrupt that. For example, Baltimore has shuffled Michael Oher from right to left tackle. He's a below average left tackle. He's too slow out of his stance to play the position. However, he's performs at a high-level on the right side. Some of it is comfort or just the player himself. Left tackle is not an easy position to play, although I did like Bulaga as a left tackle coming out of Iowa. That was along time ago, though. I think it’s too reckless now and a decision that would backfire on Green Bay as it did Baltimore.

I still think Sherrod is the last man standing at LT. He's the first round pick with all the prototypical size requirements. His upper body strength should already be much improved from his rookie year, but I just don't know how long an injury like he sustained takes.
I don't see us using our first rounder on another LT, when Newhouse played at least middle of the pack for LT's. I think another big ugly nasty interior lineman is needed and of course a new OL coach.

It would be nice if Sherrod and Datko could both get and stay 100% healthy, for them personally and to really see what they can do. My guess is they can both be very good players.

Exactly.. it isn't like Newhouse was terrible. Not blue chip either.
I hope that Sherrod can come back, but a broken leg taking almost two seasons to recover, I think expecting him to challenge for a starting spot is ultra optimistic. But I like it.
Bulaga has his home.. has Porky notated. No reason to move to the other end. Barclay showed up, but was definitely more effective in the run game than pass from my eyes. I would love to see how he would do as a guard.. got that mauler type personality.
Datko is an intriguing project tackle.. if he can stay healthy, he might challenge eventually.
My opinion.. I the Packers have more questions at C and interior depth than tackle at this point.
That said.. if a blue chip tackle is sitting there for them.. take it. But I think we have a better chance at a blue chip C than T. I am hoping Ted goes Wisconsin with
Federick if he slides that far.

It has only been 13 months since he broke his leg. Unless he can't go next season it will only be 1 (and just a little more) season missed.

I say leave Bulaga at RT. He plays well there and he played with tendonitis in his right knee at the beginning of the season so he's willing to play through pain to help the team there. But is there any update on Sherrod? I've heard everything from "He'll be healthy for next season" to "He's never playing another snap."

Of course they deserve a shot. Though it hope Bulaga returns and stays at RT. So much of playing Tackle is the first step, and having become use to taking that first step with the Right leg, trying to get comfortable taking it with the left leg again would take some work.
I would like to see Sherrod make it back take over at RT, and get a new BIG LT, and Bulaga, Lang, newhouse fight for LG. I want to increase the size of line.

I think you keep the starting 5 were they are.
Newhouse, Lang, D-Smith, Sitton and Bulaga.
OT Sherrod and Datko should be worked at both OTs.
OG/OT Barclay should be worked at RG and RT. (and hopefully could fill in at LG if needed)
Van Roten and Gerhart (yes brother of Vikings RB Gerhart) should focus on Center and maybe some OG but mainly Center.
If Joe Gibbs can play Center focus on that, if he can't focus in on the OG spots (and maybe RT if he can do that)... (as far as I know, not related to the famous Joe Gibbs)
