I have read quite a few say that the Packers are lacking that home field advantage they once had. So, I went back and checked the standings because I thought the Packers had done fairly well at home. The last four seasons, playoffs included, the Packers are 29 - 5 at Lambeau Field.

My question would be, is 29 wins out of 34 games ... bad?

Actually it's the best home win % of any team in the league tied with Baltimore

That's a decent metric to look at, but it doesn't really tell you the home field ADVANTAGE. If you have a team that goes 16-0 for 5 seasons in a row, they'd have a 100% home winning percentage. That would imply that they have incredible home field advantage, which very well might not be the case.

Since I'm too lazy to check postseason records, here's regular season for the Packers over the last 4 years:
Regular Season Road Record: 19-13
Regular Season Home Record: 28-4

That would be a +9 differential, which still seems substantial.

They do good at home, until the playoffs now, it seems. Yes, they beat up on the Vikings, but look who their QB was.
And even with the horrible QB Minnesota had, the Packers didn't blow them out.

To expand on Porforis' data would be to do similiar stats for all the other NFL teams and compare the number + or - number of home or road wins. But... that sounds like a lot of work, so I will just say that although I wouldn't trade the team or stadium for anything, the impression I have gotten is that the Lambeau Field advantage is not as large as the talking heads say. I get the impression that the broadcast teams don't really stay on top of the Packers all that well ("The Packers are known to be a good screen team",..."Reggie Cobb",..."Lambeau is tough for visiting teams"...).

The mid 90's Packers had Lambeau Mystique, the 60's Packers had Lambeau Mystique, Mike Sherman and Mike McCarthy have lost home playoff games and so went the Lambeau Mystique.

Until Mike Vick ran wild on Lambeau field, the Packers had never lost a home playoff game. But by all means boys - go wild on the stats.

yep. The golden days of teams expecting to lose when they walk out onto the field is gone. Only the piss poor teams expect to lose. Everyone else either thinks they have a chance or expects to win.

Postseason record nonwithstanding, I still point to my stats from over the last 4 years.

Regular Season Road Record: 19-13
Regular Season Home Record: 28-4

28-4 is damnned good. If we played every game at home, that's almost 2 full seasons of 14-2 football. I don't think anybody says "Yeah, we're screwed" when they have to go to Lambeau, but it's obvious we play much better at home.

We are 3-4 at home in the playoffs since losing to ATL in 2002. 3-3 away in that same span.

We are kinda "dome-ish". I have no problem with that, personally.

Zero2Cool (4h) : Hi 😊😉
TheKanataThrilla (10h) : I guess I should have did a refresh when I walked away from the computer.
TheKanataThrilla (10h) : Peters is 25 with one year left on his contract at just over $3M
Zero2Cool (12h) : Mel Kiper sticks with Marcus Davenport to GB in 2nd mock
Zero2Cool (13h) : As for Marcus Peters, how old is he an what's his contract years left?
Zero2Cool (13h) : Packers got tired of Sitton's antics.
Zero2Cool (13h) : Sitton was released not because of play or salary, but personality. He will not be re-signed.
TheKanataThrilla (13h) : If we are planning on possibly cutting Cobb I can see the 2nd round pick. A second round pick for Peters is a pretty good deal.
Smokey (14h) : I'd offer Cobb + a 3rd round pick + a 6th round pick in 2019 for the CB Peters from KC.
TheKanataThrilla (15h) : I guess that is a highter round pick
TheKanataThrilla (15h) : Suggestion was a 2nd round pick. I would want a lower round pick. I think that is too much. A 3rd or 4th seems about right.
Smokey (15h) : Cobb and WHAT PICK ?
TheKanataThrilla (16h) : A suggestion I saw was a trade of Cobb and a Pick for Peters. I think that would be a great move.
Smokey (19h) : Sitton was drafted be GB in 2008, not a young man at this point, but still is a "bear" of a man.
Cheesey (21-Feb) : Sitton? Maybe if the price is right.
Cheesey (21-Feb) : I doubt the Packers would try to resign Sutton. But who knows? If the price is right?
Zero2Cool (20-Feb) : Bears declining option on Josh Sitton. He'll be Free Agent.
Zero2Cool (20-Feb) : Chiefs CB Marcus Peters trade rumors -- come to Packers!
