How big of a fine should Brady get for this cheap shot. If the timing was just a little off. He easily could have taken out a knee, or broken a bone.

Ty Cobb use to slide that with both legs in the air. They say he use to sharpen his cleats right by the other team's dugout.

As for Brady, seems like the luster has been knocked off that boy. He'll probably get $10K, being his first offense, but a big loser in the court of public opnion.

Puhlease... he won't get fined. Not a dime. Even though it was clearly intentional.

The defender could have grabbed his leg and broke it like a wishbone.
And who would have blamed him?
There's no place for crap like that. But as was said, he's a "star" player and probably won't have to be held accountable for his actions.

Althought it was a horrible play and it should've been flagged, the way Brady handled it afterwards is what sets him apart from a player like Suh.

And, of course, the frequency of these kinds of plays.

But, anyway, on the first point...

Ed Reed: Brady apologized for slide

by Josh Alper

Quote:
Ravens safety Bernard Pollard has been banging the drum to get the NFL to discipline Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for a slide during the AFC Championship Game, a play that Brady has since apologized for making.

Pollard thought that Brady intentionally tried to kick Ravens safety Ed Reed at the end of a run when he slid with his right leg higher than you’d expect to see on such a play. During a radio interview with WJZ in Baltimore, Reed said that he heard from Brady after the game about the slide in question.

“We talked actually not too long ago, we talked on the phone. He actually reached out to me, texted me,” Reed said, via ESPNBoston.com. “I tried to text him back, but the message exploded after 12 seconds, so I had to call him … and he’s just apologized and what not. But I told him, ‘You know, it’s good, man.’”

Reed went on to say that he doesn’t think Brady is a dirty player and that “emotions get going in the game.” NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told the website Tuesday that “any play of that nature is routinely reviewed” so Pollard might yet get his wish granted.

uffda udfa (2m) : Don't discuss Packers brass during game week. Cooking appliances are more interesting.
uffda udfa (3m) : I grew up in Wisconsin. Don't u see you created your own irony?
uffda udfa (7m) : Or pecans or walnuts? That is nuts.
uffda udfa (8m) : That's hilarious. No GM talk says u but let's talk cooking appliances?
uffda udfa (9m) : Meanwhile, you're talking turkeys, crock pots and pressure cookers.
uffda udfa (10m) : Smokey...U complained about too much Eliot Wolf talk not game talk.
uffda udfa (11m) : Disagree. He choose to roll into endzone. Safety was right call.
Smokey (11m) : U2, take your Texas redneck thinking and serve it with your pot of beans .
uffda udfa (11m) : Said maybe 1 yard line but no control until on goal line.
uffda udfa (12m) : Claimed momentum carried into endzone.
uffda udfa (12m) : Claimed it could never been ruled a safety.
uffda udfa (13m) : Mike Pereira explained on Twitter what he should've on FOX.
Smokey (13m) : Keeping them thread separated is the key. Fan Shout is for any and all members to post as they please. No one voted you King U2 .
uffda udfa (13m) : This is for NFL stuff. Not crock pots or crack pots.
uffda udfa (14m) : Shout is not back alley. Not your forum either.
Smokey (16m) : Cooking, or travel, or our favorite movie have every right in this forum.
Smokey (17m) : It is not, YOUR FORUM . Even politics is tolerated in the Back Ally .
uffda udfa (26m) : I love cooking but this is a Packers forum not Iron Chef.
Smokey (28m) : Anyone, man or woman, that can cook does not need to always depend upon others to cook their food for them.
Smokey (32m) : The greater majority of successful restaurants are owned/and run by Men.
Smokey (35m) : Making fun of the art of cooking only demonstrates a lack of sophistication.
Smokey (37m) : Most of the finest chefs in the world are men.
hardrocker950 (2h) : lol
uffda udfa (2h) : Best pressure cooker talk on the net!
hardrocker950 (3h) : Time to get the CB situation sorted out
Smokey (3h) : DON'T DELAY, JOIN TODAY !
musccy (5h) : Sorry, but no to shields. 9 mil better spent elsewhere.
uffda udfa (6h) : Sam Shields still having headaches but wants to continue playing.
uffda udfa (6h) : Not harsh. Another failure and playoff embarrassment.
uffda udfa (6h) : Aaron cried a little when asked about Jordy playing today.
GoPack1984 (6h) : Dismal season? I think that's too harsh.
uffda udfa (6h) : Packers should have never been 4-6. Dismal season.
GoPack1984 (6h) : ...with the current defense.
GoPack1984 (6h) : Good season. Great rebound from 4-6. Would have loved to have seen them go to the Super Bowl and win, but I don't know if that was realistic
uffda udfa (6h) : •thanks Shakespeare.
