Quote:Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel gives Worthy “long odds” of playing next season as a result of the surgery.

The Packers rarely catch a break with injuries, especially high draft pick injuries.

I think we should fault the Packers medical staff for not disclosing this information so much earlier. It would have made our breakfast taste much better every morning until ... today.

Nothing has changed between now and when the news he underwent surgery, other than a beat writer speculating that 2013 might be lost. It was an ACL surgery... his return is really dependent upon how he heals.. but the general guideline is a year.
Writers are scratching at things to write about... lets see how he progresses.

Bummer.
Worthy was starting to show some flash just before his injury.
I hope this is just a setback and not the end for him.

Meh,
He didn't really stand out at all to me.

I don't recall saying he was a standout player.
To me he was starting to show something, maybe some potential down the road.

Phillip Daniels made the most of his snaps, but Worthy also came in and held up well. We just gotta keep throwing fresh bodies out.

I never expect much from a rookie, doing that is usually setting yourself up for disappointment. Very few rookies have an impact, if they can reasonably fill in as Barclay or have some impact, as did Heyward, you are fortunate. They may have a big play or game but there's usually a similar screw up to match. The second or third year they should start to show something if they are going to be a good player.

Agreed, at least it wasn't Daniels. Or Neal for that matter,
Too bad Lawrence Guy left.

Oh look another early DL draft pick that's having injury troubles.
I really haven't seen anything like this happen recently. God damn. I guess we need to keep drafting DL early. As well as OL. We've really sucked/had back luck with our early picks lately.

First round picks:
2000 Bubba Franks2001 Jamal Reynolds (who?
2002 Javon Walker
2003 Nick Barnett2004 Ahmad Carroll
2005 Aaron Rodgers
2006 A. J. Hawk (Definetely not a first round top-tier LB but far from a bust)
2007 Justin Harrell
2008 No pick
2009 B. J. Raji
2009 Clay Matthews III
2010 Bryan Bulaga2011 Derek Sherrod
2012 Nick Perry
I don't follow other teams closely to have a basis of comparison, but that seems relatively decent.
