Jennings has put his De Pere home on the market in the clearest sign yet that there’s zero chance of the Packers retaining his services. I wonder what they said during his exit interview.

Do the Packers get a compensatory pick if he signs elsewhere? Seems a shame that the Packers would get nothing in return for him.

The Seahawks would probably like to sign Greg, or the Queens, they like x-Packers.

No, I think that ship sailed a while ago.. September of this year:

Jennings discussed the possibility of playing for another team in 2013 with Eric Davis on Tuesday's "NFL AM."

"It's the nature of the game," Jennings said. "This is the business. You never know what's going to lie ahead and you just go out there and play each day and play each play. And that's what I've done for the past six years here (in Green Bay).

"Do I want to leave? Absolutely not. This is No. 1 choice. The reality of it is I don't know my future. Like you (Davis) said, you've been through it. It's tough when you've put in so much time, but hey, we still got time."

According to Silverstein, Jennings has instructed his agent (Eugene Parker, who negotiated Larry Fitzgerald's $113 million extension in 2011) not to contact him about his contract during the season unless a deal is close.

There are some NFL teams-- the Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans, for example -- who do not negotiate contract extensions during the season as a matter of policy. The Packers are not one of those teams, as evidenced by Jordy Nelson's three-year, $12.6 million extension that was signed Sept. 29, 2011. So, a deal during the season remains a possibility.

Silverstein suggests that Jennings is seeking an annual average and guarantee in excess of the Vincent Jackson contract ($11.1 million per year, $26 million fully guaranteed), which makes a deal less likely considering the Packers' abundance of talent at the receiver position and core players (Aaron Rodgers, B.J. Raji, Clay Matthews) needing extensions over the next two seasons.


What he wants and what the Packers can fit under the cap with the depth at Wide Receiver being pressed into it.

If you look at our receivers with Jennings figured in, we are still missing one element that, as Rockmolder notated, brings our group down from that elite status. SPEED.

So if you have 4 receivers that are all about the same, how can you justify playing one elite money and then have any chance of keeping the others when their deals come up.

That is how I look at it.. and apparently if he is putting his house up for sale, he is at the least hedging his bets in that direction.

I should have mentioned the photos were on the site that my link was to.

Can't expect opulence for $350-$450,000. [grin1] well maybe in Depere.

It's nice to see an athlete not blowing tons of money on a house. Hopefully he is investing and making plans with his money for the long-term instead of living large while the money is rolling in only to be bankrupt when it stops.

Greg Jennings will never be confused with Terrell Owens - and I wish we could keep him. But I think we have all accepted that he isn't going to be a Packer anymore.

Nice place.

Don't know how others feel about his departure but for me, Jennings made it pretty easy to "cope" with. He was realistic from the get-go and didn't make any kinds of comments in public hinting at a possible return or hometown discount. While it will suck not to have him in green and gold, its a business and life goes on. The Packers have the front office capable of replacing Greg (if they haven't already). Packers offense proved it can function without Greg and while it does work better with him in it, there are other options to make this offense a good one.

My hope is that he doesn't find a home with an NFC North team. He has a good 2-3 years left in the tank and being paired with any of the receiving groups on an NFC North team can spell trouble twice a year for the Packers. I really do hope he follows his sister's advice and hits South Beach. Again, the Dolphins out of all teams in need of a WR, have the most cap space.

Didn't we have a thread about AJ Hawk's house being up for sale a few years ago? I think most free agents do this as to sell under the best conditions possible rather than signing somewhere else and then putting your house up for sale. Not like he couldn't buy another house should the Packers give him the type of offer he wants.

Maybe he is in the process of building a bigger/better house with the contract Ted promised him at the exit interview?
