Albeit, a Bears player, I liked Johnny Knox, except when the Packers played the Bears. He suffered a horrific back breaking (I think it broke) type injury during the end of 2011 season. I believe I read he's able to walk and live a normal life, however, can't get back to playing shape, thus retired. It's a shame he can't live his dream out further, but a blessing he's able to live a normal life.

easily the most horrific injury i have ever seen. It sucks it ruined his career, glad he can live a healthy life, though.

Yeah, I admired Johnny too. Sorry to see him retire.

I am glad he walked away from the game than try and risk playing again. Wiry type player.. probably the best option they had prior to Marshall.

many will say Darryl Stingley. It really doesn't look like it is that vicious of a hit.

What made it so bad was it was a freakin preseason game.

The one that I always hated was Mike Utley. Detroit.

I see still photos on you tube but no film of the incident. no speakers here at the office so I am not sure what they are saying so I left it off.

Oh man....

When whoever the announcer was that yelled in the video, I tensed up and looked away.. Ouch. I had completely missed this.. But am very happy to hear that he's able to walk today. Hopefully he won't have issues down the road, though.

As far as wicked injuries... Timmy Krumrie's injury is up there.. so is Joe Thiesman's.
