There were several changes made over the weekend. A couple were made in hopes of improving/stabilizing the page load performance of the site. Rather than sometimes it loads lightning fast, but most times it takes several seconds ... the goal is to be more lightning fast than anything else. Personally, I like fast.
Since this past Monday, what has your experience been with the site in regards it how quickly it is loading for you?
This test shows that the site loads faster than 96% of the other sites tested.

The lack of feedback, is that because the site is too slow to make a post? lol

I noticed a change from this weekend. Much better. Yeah, even with edits, on a mobile device.

I've never really had the feeling that it was slow, but it's blazing fast now.

I am kind of particular about speed. I do not like having to wait more than ~1 second for a page to load. The software is very fast, but it's troubling to find a host and configuration that can keep up.

These comments make me very happy. It almost seems like it was worth it staying up til 2am St. Patricks Day to get the upgrade completed. :)

I always assumed speed had to do with your Internet rather than the website.

It is both.
If I had ten million people trying to get on to a website on my computer it would bog down and crash.
Back on 9-11 I remember every major news source's site locked up as millions of people tried to find out what was happening.
Of course it was also the age of dial up so that did not help.

Website uploads to you, while you download it.
That's why your ISP touts their massive download speed in their advertisements. How many times have you heard an ISP say "We offer 4MB upload!!!", not often. You probably here "We offer up to 12MB download!!"
A webhost has to have a high upload, so you can download it. Ideally, as a webhost, you will be uploading faster than others can download. That rarely if ever happens. Most websites don't require a massive upload though, unless they are very loaded with weighted graphics, but even then those are usually cached off on your local device that you used to browse to the site with. So the first time you load the site, slow, next time, it'd be faster.
PH is pretty well coded and efficiently designed. No, I am not bias, not at all. :)

You "recruited" me from "that other forum", and I still post there also - a lot less than here nowadays. Anyway, it has been so slow I thought my computer had a problem, but THIS forum is still nice and fast - that in addition to the various other things I like about it.

You weren't recruited, lol. Are you saying that PF is slow, or this site is slow? I was toying around with the DLL's yesterday, but it should be running snappy. If it is slow can you tell me the time frame please?

Z2C, TX was telling me that he loved the speed of this site over the speed of the site which will not be named. I gave him the link to this thread so that he could let you know how please he too is with what you have done.

o_O I see. I thought he was saying PH was slow ... I kinda get paranoid over that so didn't use my 3rd grade reading comprehension skills properly. Speed is huge for me, I want snappy pages!
Thanks, to you both. Feel free to bring other GOOD contributors to the site. That goes to anyone. Adding good folks is good. Add a billion folks to say "we have a billion", not so good, nor is it productive.
