Undrafted in 2010, Shields has become a key contributor for the Packers in three seasons, drawing a second-round tender. Shields and the Packers are talking, we're told, about a long-term deal.  For now, nothing is imminent — and definitely not as imminent as

We already have a glut at corner. Shields gets signed long term and next year Williams gets cut, unless he reverts back to pre-injury form. I believe he has close to a $9M cap number in 2014.

I am all for it. Except Williams is now a 7 year player so we fans will want him to stay on the team for ever. Big Grin
