One could certainly argue whether this hurts or helps the person.
Why is Jerry Kramer not in the Hall of Fame?

Hope he's still working out. I'd like to see him bulk up a little.

I was saying earlier to my friend that it is such a crappy, but good rule. It hinders the development some guys can gain by going through these off-season practices. Then again, it is important to finish up school.

I despise the NBA because they allow KIDS to come to the league 1 year after playing college basketball. It is by far the dumbest thing ever. Adding that rule from the last (being allowed to come straight from HS) literally did nothing. I know these aren't the same things but I am glad the NFL inputs a rule that makes these players finish college before starting their new job.

watch at the end of this video (around 4:00 min mark) he is boxing and lifting weights. I think he'll be fine.[grin1]

"Only Franklin’s deal had a reported value and that was at around $2.5 million. There were some questions about whether Franklin would be able to participate in rookie OTA’s due to an NFL rule that states that draftees are not permitted to practice with their new team until their school’s graduation has passed. Franklin, however, finished his undergraduate degree in June, 2012 and so he is fully eligible for all team activities."
