ProFootballTalk said: Sure, offseason workouts are largely meaningless. But they meant enough in Green Bay to prompt the team to put a third-year veteran who tore an ACL as a rookie and underperformed in 2012 at the top of the tailback depth chart. Per Tyler Dunne of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, running back Alex Green currently owns

Seniority for the most part. Will keep the younger backs hungry. This will be a tough competition in training camp given the body to snap count ratio. Pre-season games will be huge!

Veterans know the playbook.
For now that's an advantage. This is gonna be the best TC ever!

Yep every position group has intrigue for me this year especially on defense. I will be watching TC with almost as much excitement as the regular season.
Also, I cannot wait to see Quarless play again. I enjoyed his play immensely during our SB run. What a great blocker.

I think this is a motivation tool for the rookies more than anything else - that and a way of not disrespecting either Lacy or Franklin by putting one above the other in advance.
Green will struggle to make the team. He probably will, but he will be 4th after the rookies and Harris, and hopefully he will have some ability to play fullback to enhance his value.

It is hard to say anything about Greens playing ability in the pros with any accuracy.
He was hurt before we saw anything in his rookie year with only 3 carries. Last year he couldn't find enough HGH because Peterson was bogarting. So he wasn't healthy enough to play. He was forced to play because of all the injuries to the other RBs.
Green could easily be the best RB we have. Or the worst.
We really don't know.
