The big three — and I literally mean the B-I-G three — on the Packers defensive line have come to play through the season's first two games. Packers = soft? It looks like B.J. Raji, Ryan Pickett and Johnny Jolly have taken it upon themselves to change that equation. The trio, which weighs a combined [...]

I love watching the big boys put a dent in the OL. I don't think the Defense as a whole has jelled. We will see more a lot more from them in the next few weeks.

Yeah, I guess within limitations, they have done a good job. Maybe, however, that is only a good job in comparison to the gross weakness against the run we have seen for several years. A lot of other teams have equally effective run stoppers who have a lot more ability to pressure the QB. Also, before we get too carried away with the wonderfulness of these biggies, they gave up a LOT of rushing yards against Washington, despite the fact that Washington was way behind and playing catch up.

I'm also not a proponent of getting too carried away, but I think the big guys deserve a good deal of credit. On a lot of the big ground gains for Washington, the big guys did their job quite well. They ate up the blocks and allowed the linebackers to fill. The problems I saw in tackling were mostly either:
1) players were just barely too far away (I recall plays in which Hawk or Daniels had to lay-out and couldn't quite make the play), or
2) Alfred Morris dominated smaller players (which shouldn't be too surprising)... not to mention any names, but a couple DBs were not consistent in wrapping up.

So yeah, I'm going to go ahead and be a little excited about our D-line play thus far.

They missed too many tackles in the run game but as far as the yards most teams in the league will be able to run the ball with some success against anyone when they are down 28-31 points late in the game. Defenses at that point are 100% pass defense.

I LOVE the big 3, and I'm very grateful to have Pick, Raji and Jolly on our DL. They will carry us to the Superbowl, and another Lombardi Trophy. Here's to big fatties!

Would suggest people go back and watch games from the past. The defense has been extremely tough up the gut for a few years. Most rushing yardage against the defense has been from plays that bounce outside, or at least outside of the bigs.

Will need to see how they do when rush defense isn't as much of a priority in the gameplan.

True. That massive wall can be run around with relative ease, and although what you say is true about up the middle, I seem to recall quite a few traps or whatever finessing our bigs out of position for a good gain.

Zero2Cool (54m) : Only time I recall getting annoyed is when they beat a single topic over and over and over.
Pack93z (1h) : Most yes... Heller seems to get it more so... diversity in his coverage... but seemingly can highlight the pressing issues properly.
Zero2Cool (1h) : I'm kind of in the boat that they all are babblying boonies.
Pack93z (1h) : God bless it... Bill Michaels can be a stubborn SOB at times... love his Packers coverage, still think he is a buffoon at times.
Zero2Cool (1h) : Jordy Nelson Named PFWA Comeback Player of the Year
Zero2Cool (3h) : Carter is predicitng the end is in ATL for Packers.
Porforis (3h) : Or I could just completely miss the part where that was Cris Carter.
Porforis (3h) : Careful there. Don't you want to predict a Packers loss just in case?
Zero2Cool (4h) : @criscarter80 :Every fairy tale comes to an end, and this is where the magic carpet ride stops in the ATL.
Zero2Cool (4h) : McCarthy: "JC Tretter actually had surgery Tuesday. He won't be available this week"
Zero2Cool (5h) : Crosby is fine now. Full Participant in practice Thursday
Porforis (5h) : What I'm more worried about at this point is WR injuries and Crosby being sick. Who'd be the backup if Crosby can't go?
Zero2Cool (5h) : We do have hope. Our secondary has improved. Also, he had to throw 80% to get 1 point up. That won't happen again.
Zero2Cool (5h) : I like to tease sometimes.
uffda udfa (6h) : Only 80%? :). We lost by one given that stat? Wish we had hope of tightening up.
uffda udfa (6h) : Z, u should tell everyone who Quintorris is. Quintorris Lopez Jones, better known as Julio.
Zero2Cool (6h) : Matt Ryan completed 80% of his passes against Packers in October.
uffda udfa (6h) : McGinn goes full on attack mode dismissing the notion of "Packers people". Harsh.
uffda udfa (6h) : McGinn says John Dorsey likely to be next Packers GM.
Zero2Cool (8h) : Boom! Davante Adams says last year's ankle injury "more difficult to deal with'
uffda udfa (11h) : Packers brass potentially leaving? Not worthy of discussing. Pressure Cooker? Never enough talk about them.
Zero2Cool (17h) : Put Quintorris in a pressure cooker.
uffda udfa (21h) : Back to football: Julio says he's going to play Sunday. Did NOT say he wouldn't be limited in the game.
uffda udfa (21h) : Anyone ever used their dishwasher to make their Thanksgiving turkey?
uffda udfa (21h) : Favorite Ronnie Milsap song? Smokey Mountain Rain or Any Day Now?
uffda udfa (19-Jan) : Favorite GM candidate... Wolf or Gutekunst?
uffda udfa (19-Jan) : I'd rather sit them than play them too compromised.
uffda udfa (19-Jan) : Yeah, Z. More pressure cooker talk and smoked turkeys.
Zero2Cool (19-Jan) : If this were a regular-season game, Nelson, Adams and Allison probably would not play, MM says.
Smokey (19-Jan) : Mason Crosby is ill, hope it's not the Flu.
Smokey (19-Jan) : Great, can we move past that story and get back to the Atlanta game ?
Zero2Cool (19-Jan) : Packers exec Eliot Wolf has withdrawn his name for 49ers' GM job, as @TomPelissero reported. He didn't feel it was the right time.
TheKanataThrilla (19-Jan) : We'll just have to score TDs then.
Zero2Cool (19-Jan) : That's what we know.
Zero2Cool (19-Jan) : Crosby, Mason K Illness
