J.J. Jansen's agent says his client will be available for the season opener against the Vikings. It was a LCL or something like that. |

I say just stick Scotty Wells in there and let JR take his snaps from under centre. Obviously he'll be using run/pass plays with the punt the last option. :P |

Well the agent was dead wrong; Packers placed Jansen on IR today. Quote:The Green Bay Packers will be seeking a long snapper after making the decision Saturday to put J.J. Jansen on injured reserve.
Jansen probably will undergo surgery to repair either a torn or strained lateral collateral ligament in his left knee, agent Paul Sheehy said.
A rookie free agent from Notre Dame, Jansen was injured after a high snap Thursday against Tennessee that punter Jon Ryan pulled down and then ran for 34 yards.
Another long snapper who was with the Packers early in camp, Thomas Gafford, was told Friday that he would waived today by the Chicago Bears. |

Man......not having Rob Davis, i think we will see just how important a long snapper is. He's HUGE on punts, extra points and field goals. Hopefully the new guy can fill Davis' shoes. |

So I get home from finishing the last load and check out JSOnline... Quote:Jansen headed to injured reserve By Tom Silverstein Saturday, Aug 30 2008, 03:48 PM

I just saw that too and was going to post the update. Agents is right. They get our hopes up and then crush them like so many empty paper cups. |
