makeshift?

This version of the oline probably had more reps as a group than the 'projected starting group' did. Once again I think I'm in the minority in thinking the oline isnt a weakness.

I also have to disagree with you about Jackson. He doesn't scare me. Either he holds it and gets killed or throws it and gets it picked off. Either one is fine with me.

Trom's 3 keys to victory:

1. Stop Adrian Peterson.
2. Since you can't stop him, contain Adrian Peterson.
3. Since you can't contain him, outscore the bastards. Go Offense!

I completely disagree with the OL. It is a problem. Not thinking it isn't a problem doesn't solve it not being a problem. That's called denial.

Now, this is how you beat the Vikes. Note that it's exactly the same way to beat the Vikes as it was in '07.

We keep AP off the field. We open up the passing game. Get a rhythm. Yes, our OL is weak. Yes, their DL is good. But you do three steps back and release all day long. Don't give them time to think. Throw screens. Throw short slants. Throw 70% of the time, but get the ball off asap.

Score early and often. Childress will panic and put the ball in Tarvaris' hands. Then the game is ours.
Mike McCarthy will do that. Watch.

i think the OL is a problem insofar as it was a problem before Wells got hurt. One hurt guy out of the group can't completely derail the whole group. i agree with Trom that, in week one, we'd be about equal with or without Wells, because of all the time he's missed in preseason. I say the OL is a problem, but i don't think it would cease to be a problem if Wells were strarting this week.

Mike McCarthy will gameplan accordingly. We will have to be faster paced and won't be able to do the 5 step drops so much. Aaron Rodgers 's release will have to be faster and we won't have as many runs up the middle.

Don't worry though, there are still holes to exploit and if it comes down to a battle of wits between coaches, the game is ours.

Stopping their running game will be crucial. It wont be the deciding factor. But if we eliminate it, we have nearly a guaranteed victory.

Our O-line situation is what I'm worried most about. I hope that come gameday, they out play themselves and just surprise the hell out of everyone. Ryan also concerns me, he hasn't played at game speed since the NFC ship. But Gregorious is who I think will spark our Offense. One of those quick slants is going to the house.

All in all, I'm very optimistic. I don't even worry about our team on D. Veteran leadership is priceless. We can win, and we WILL win.

I think the biggest key is having Pickett back and how Jolly plays (and he can be a monster). As I stated in another thread I think Pickett is huge in our run defense because he executes his part to perfection which creates opportunities for the guys behind him. That's how our run "D" works.

There has been a big difference in our run "D" when he has been in there and when he has not (most of the pre-season). If we keep AP in control we win because then the advantage goes to our WR's and passing game against the other seven they have on the field and we win that battle.

In fact, only Greenway would be a player in that back seven that could replace anyone we have back there. Go thru the lineup yourself. What other Viking goes in front of anybody we have in that back seven.

I know, I know, now we have this huge pass rush problem that the Vikes will be bringing, right? I don't know about that. In the entire careers of all four starting DL for the Vikes including Allen, Edwards, and both Williams', they have a GRAND TOTAL of 2 and 1/2 sacks in NINETEEN GAMES combined against the Pack.

The Vikings didn't improve all four pass rushers. They improved one and we will be doubling him. Don't look for that to mean now they will be equaling their sack total in one game to what they have done in their entire careers. Won't happen.

The Vikes run it well and stop the run well the rest of what they have is all talk, talk, talk. If we keep AP around 100yds. we win. Maybe by double digits.

This is the thing. We won't need to stop their running game. Last year, Childress abandoned the running game when he fell behind. He'll do the same this year if we take a good lead.

That's right. But it's not like Childress is stupid for abandoning the run when the Vikes get down by two scores. That's basically what you have to do. Some teams can succeed when they have to do that, and some (Vikings) have to put their hopes on a wing and a prayer.

uffda udfa (6h) : Just rewatched Cobbs hail mary catch in slo mo...he should've been flagged for OPI. Got away with one.
uffda udfa (8h) : Nope. I like Gus.
beast (8h) : Did you want Anthony Lynn as HC? Cushion Bradley was going to follow Lynn where ever.
uffda udfa (9h) : Gus Bradley is new DC in SD/LA. I would've loved to had him here in Green Bay.
uffda udfa (13h) : It's just fine.
musccy (13h) : 5 questionable Packers, none for Falcons. Not good.
uffda udfa (14h) : Jordy not listed as OUT or DOUBTFUL. Questionable on injury report.
uffda udfa (15h) : This is the 6th straight game we've faced someone for the 2nd time. We learn.
uffda udfa (15h) : Aaron: I like our role. I like our chances. (said he relishes being an underdog)
uffda udfa (15h) : Aaron alludes to fake crowd noise at Georgia Dome for Sunday.
uffda udfa (16h) : So, to recap. Losing streak "just the way it is", winning streak "astronomical feat". #Balanced
uffda udfa (16h) : Ironically, he called the turn around "astronomical" not just the way it is in the NFL. #Don'tMissTheIrony
uffda udfa (16h) : Ted tells Demovsky the Packers weren't underachieving when 4-6. Just the way it is in the NFL????
Zero2Cool (20h) : Only time I recall getting annoyed is when they beat a single topic over and over and over.
Pack93z (20h) : Most yes... Heller seems to get it more so... diversity in his coverage... but seemingly can highlight the pressing issues properly.
Zero2Cool (20h) : I'm kind of in the boat that they all are babblying boonies.
Pack93z (20h) : God bless it... Bill Michaels can be a stubborn SOB at times... love his Packers coverage, still think he is a buffoon at times.
Zero2Cool (20h) : Jordy Nelson Named PFWA Comeback Player of the Year
Zero2Cool (22h) : Carter is predicitng the end is in ATL for Packers.
Porforis (22h) : Or I could just completely miss the part where that was Cris Carter.
Porforis (22h) : Careful there. Don't you want to predict a Packers loss just in case?
Zero2Cool (23h) : @criscarter80 :Every fairy tale comes to an end, and this is where the magic carpet ride stops in the ATL.
Zero2Cool (23h) : McCarthy: "JC Tretter actually had surgery Tuesday. He won't be available this week"
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Crosby is fine now. Full Participant in practice Thursday
Porforis (20-Jan) : What I'm more worried about at this point is WR injuries and Crosby being sick. Who'd be the backup if Crosby can't go?
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : We do have hope. Our secondary has improved. Also, he had to throw 80% to get 1 point up. That won't happen again.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : I like to tease sometimes.
uffda udfa (20-Jan) : Only 80%? :). We lost by one given that stat? Wish we had hope of tightening up.
uffda udfa (20-Jan) : Z, u should tell everyone who Quintorris is. Quintorris Lopez Jones, better known as Julio.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Matt Ryan completed 80% of his passes against Packers in October.
uffda udfa (20-Jan) : McGinn goes full on attack mode dismissing the notion of "Packers people". Harsh.
uffda udfa (20-Jan) : McGinn says John Dorsey likely to be next Packers GM.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Boom! Davante Adams says last year's ankle injury "more difficult to deal with'
uffda udfa (20-Jan) : Packers brass potentially leaving? Not worthy of discussing. Pressure Cooker? Never enough talk about them.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Put Quintorris in a pressure cooker.
