Just letting you know I've decided to upgrade the hosting package. There might be a few little weird things going down during this process. Just wanting to give you all a heads up.
You won't see any real changes except more features that I will be programming myself. |

This upgrade is going to be a pain in the ass. Going from Linux to Microsoft is not as smooth as they initially made it sound out to be. I have to download the entire server, then upload it to the new one. |

Yeah, I'm not happy about it. I wanted to upgrade to a MS package, then after I processed it they then were kind of enough to tell me we'd lose our database. I said no cancel the upgrade then.
They said that was impossible in which I said what host company doesn't have backups? There must be a backup, use it. They said they're gonna get the latest backup of the site and use that and restore the Linux server.
If it goes as I was told, there shouldn't be any issues. Now I just received and email saying its going to be down for 30 days.
I'm completely freaking confused on all of this. The support people have really strong accents and its hard to understand them. I have a backup of the entire website on my laptop and I'm constantly taking backups of the database. So if the worst happens, it'll be down for a day at the most. |
