Peterson: Collision with Harris was no accident
September 9, 2008 12:43 AM
Posted by ESPN.com's Kevin Seifert
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- We have an answer. Vikings running back Adrian Peterson acknowledged Monday night that it was no accident he ran over the player responsible for his right knee injury last season.
As we noted earlier, Peterson ran over Packers cornerback Al Harris in the first quarter of Green Bay's 24-19 victory. Harris, of course, was the player whose low -- but clean -- hit on Peterson resulted in a torn lateral collateral ligament in the teams' 2007 matchup at Lambeau Field.
"No grudges," Peterson said. "But I definitely wanted to come out and, if I had the opportunity, put a little boom on Harris."
Peterson finished with 103 yards on 19 carries, the seventh 100-yard game of his career.
---
Good for him that he could get some revenge eh!? That should be good motivation to beat this team again come later in the season. Like the Packers need any more considering the way the Vikings team talks. Good stuff!

Harris had a nice tackle on him later in the game though.
Probably safe to say they're not the best of friends.

...and that is what truly matters. Now if we can just beat the Bears, then I will be extremely pleased.

I think they probably have a mutual respect between one another. I'm not saying they like or are buddies but I don't think AP meant anything by it. Just like Harris' hit was legal, Peterson's was too.

He can run over al harris all day so long as we win.
But I just couldn't see it happening somehow.
He would have got far more rushing yards if it hadn' have been for childress forgetting he was in the team.......again.
You've gotta love his playcalling. I lost them the games last season and now he does the same again this

Peterson ran all over us in the first half, and how many points did the Vikings have on the board? Three. Last year's game at the crap dome was pretty much the same. Big first half for Peterson, but the Vikings were behind so Childress had to become more pass-oriented in the second half.
As I said before the game, Peterson will get his yards, but as long as he doesn't have too many long ones, the Pack can win by shutting down the passing game.

Exactly!
He had one big run last night against us for 34 yards. If you exclude that he carried for a little under 4 per carry. That's going to get our defense off the field when on third down they have to pass.

I'll be cool with our DB getting trampled by the starting RB of the other team if it means we win.
I'm sure Harris would take the punishment every week like a true team player he is.

That's part of the game. As long as it's within the rules and not a cheap shot, it's all good.
AP can smile all he wants. He goes home with a L. Al Harris goes home with a W.
