So i come into work today (i live in mn) and everyone starts saying how the refs cheated and were on the vikings side and made terrible calls. All i do is wonder if they watched the same game that i did. The game i saw flagged the Packers for every little thing, called back a TD, put the packers in first and 33 and made two terrible pass interference calls. Do vikings fans know anything about football? |

Do vikings fans know anything about football? The officiating was very poor on both side of the ball. Both the Vikings and the Packers were victims of bad calls last night. A lot of the calls were OK - the teams were playing sloppy. But there were a couple on both sides that were very questionable. And the officials were not consistent, calling penalties some times but not others. Very frustrating to say the least. |
"There's the snap, Rodgers with a quick drop - in trouble! AND SACKED BY ALLEN! The ball is lose, the ball is lose, and recovered by Kevin Williams! And that's the ball game! Childress and the Vikings FINALLY beat the Packers!" -- |

It was in a way for us Pack fans ushering in a new QB, but I found the refs really took away from my enjoyment last night. |

100% agree.. Let's make that 200%. Bottom line was that the refs did not determine the final outcome of the game. |

When I saw which officiating crew we had, all I could do was shake my head. They are ROUTINELY terrible and they didn't break from the pattern at all last night. There were at least 3 PI calls that should have been made but weren't on the Packers, and 2 long PI calls that shouldn't have been called but were on the Packers. I can't remember the last time I saw an illegal man downfield call on a long pass play where the blocker is completely out of the play. On a screen, yeah, of course. But on a slant/go route? Give me a break. Combine that with a number of ticky tacky calls early on both sides of the ball and you just have an all around terrible effort by these hacks. Like I've said a million times before, give me Carey for every game and I'll be thrilled. |

The Vikes got four first downs by penalty and the Packers had three times as many penalty yards on twelve flags not to mention wiping out a 70+ yard TD by a flag.
I cannot see how anyone can say the refs favored the Packers here. |

I had to chuckle a bit when ESPN did their late game Iso of Allen vs. Clifton, a couple of the shots showed Clifton holding Allen's jersey. No flags where thrown. But on the other side of the ball Kampman was held repeatedly without getting the benefit of a holding penalty. |

The problem is they are both flag happy and inconsistent. A leverage call?, several holding/PI calls that were very borderline and others that were more obvious that did not get called. What we saw was an inconsistent crew working their 1st regular season game, both teams playing their 1st regular season game, and GB having a somewhat makeshift OL possibly creating communication problems. |

i just laughed. then they start doing their if statements. If t-jack didnt throw a pick we woulda won, if they woulda used peterson more we would have won. Yea and if the field goal didn't get blocked and td called back and all those penalties weren't called we would have blown you out
I just find it hilarious all the talking they were doing yesterday when i had my rodgers jersey on and i come in today and to no avail they still talk trash. Vikings fans, most anyways, are the worst fans in football. In my eyes anyways |

I agree Spardo. They were as sloppy and inconsistant as they could get. We were called for some goofy calls, for sure. As was stated......o-lineman down field.......that blew me away. Wiped out a GREAT toss by Rodgers, and great play by Driver. We played against the Vikings AND refs, and STILL won. |

Well, I thought the refs were ok. It was more that we were playing sloppy. Like the TD to Driver, our G was knocking down LBs like it was a run play and the next thing you know, Driver's running into the end zone. A good call, but of course one that really pissed me off. This is week 1. I expected a lot of slop. Both teams will get chewed out by their respective coaches then work on ironing out their mistakes. |
My man Donald Driver (thanks to Pack93z for the pic) 2010 will be seen as the beginning of the new Packers dynasty. |

It was a run play, Arod checked to it hot at the line of scrimmage.. I think that is more of the communication errors that plagued us last year. But I am with ya Zombie.. sloppy game overall on both teams, but I half expected it out of the OLine.. the staff needs to pick a group and stick with it. I know injuries are hurting it, but sliding these guys around isn't helping with the communication part. Youth and constant change.. not a real effective mix on a close knit unit such as a oline. |
