McCarthy said that Grant's hamstring was very sore at halftime last night and that affected him even on his long run in the 2nd half.

I certainly hope this doesn't linger on for the entire season. We need Grant. Brandon Jackson still seems to run timid and too indecisive.

Thoughts?

Get some ice... Smile

Wait, didn't Brandon Jackson run all over the Lions last season in the last game?

I say if he's still really sore, rest him against the Lions.

I know that doesn't sound good, but I think we can still beat the Lions with Jackson and Lumpkin. It'd be more important to have Grant 100% for the Dallas game.

Thoughts?

I'm pretty sure Grant was pretty pooped his first game last season. I expect him to get into the groove after a couple of games.

My thoughts? We will beat the Lions without Grant. Rest Grant. We'll need him for the important games.

I think Mike McCarthy knows what he is doing.

We are gonna beat the Madcensoredx: out of the Lions early and often. By mid second quarter, Grant will be done for the game and resting.

Being tired or fatigued is different from injury. Hamstring injuries may seem small, but can really affect a guy throughout the season. If he doesn't feel good come Sunday, then keep him out.

So true. I pulled a hammy when I played summer softball. It bothered me all year long. I know I have never been in the same condition these guys are in but it is hard to get them healed up.

We would win even if we had Ahmad Carroll as RB. I think even he would pull off over 100 against the Lions D.

I think some of you are way too confident that we are going to beat the Lions on Sunday. That being said, I think sense this is the NFL and any team can beat any other team on any day, I say if he can go, play him against the Lions. We need to take this 1 game at a time. We worry about beating the Lions right now. Not the cowboys. Now on the other hand if he can hurt it worse, then dont play him. For the sake of the rest of the season. But if he can play through it, i say go for it.

I'm certainly not being over confident. However, the coaching staff have nothing but praise for Brandon Jackson. If they say so, I really have little choice but to believe them, even though I haven't saw too much in actual game time. Also, he ran very well at the end of last year against the Lions.

Taking all this into account and the fact that we should be prepared if Grant were to go down, it shouldn't be a huge blow to rest Grant for a week and this team should be confident that we can win without him.

Of course there's a chance that he could re-injure himself and be out for another extended period of time. In my mind, it's not worth playing him for one game and losing him for several . . if that is indeed the case.

I believe what the coaches say about Jackson too... But from what we have seen he still looks like a magnet attracted to the wall of defenders when he touches the ball.
