In an interview to air Sunday on the NFL Network, New York Jets quarterback Brett Favre praised Aaron Rodgers' debut performance

"He played extremely well," Favre said about Rodgers. "He played well under a lot of pressure, but I'm not surprised by it. . . . He's got tremendous talent. He watched and learned from me, and that's good and bad."

NFL Network analyst Steve Mariucci interviewed Favre and Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum.

Mariucci asked Tannenbaum how he pitched his organization to Favre.

"We have a lot of good people here," Tannenbaum said he told Favre. "We have a good football team . . . .You'll fit in really well and you'll be hunting in 15 minutes."

The interview is to air at 9 a.m. on the NFL Network show "NFL GameDay Morning."

I'm not sure where to post this. Packers, Brett? EEK! So, we'll post it here and see what happens.

Good to hear. I hope the two can still truly get along. As far as where to post it, who's gonna punish you? LOL

No, he couldn't have said nothing.

Had he said "no comment" or something, the media would have jumped all over it. "Favre declines to talk about successor's success!" and whatnot. Despite what it looks like, he knows what he's doing with the media.

Yah... Yah... Yah. Good Speach.

Even Jeffery Dahmer had good things to say about the people he worked with in Wisconsin.

What Brett said was nice, I would not have expected less. What would have been really classy is if he would have called, emailed, etc. Aaron personally to congratulate him. Who knows, maybe Brett did.

Favre is a top guy, and has spent several years around Rodgers.. Im sure he will want him to do well... But i would expect no less from him really!!

Brett showed what a classy guy he is. He holds no grudges and after a few successful seasons in new York, will retire a Packer.

I love how Brett Favre stating the obvious, and then taking credit for it is "classy".

If someone came to Brett and asked "what did ya think of Rodgers first start" and he didn't reply or said no comment. Well, the question was a pin you in the corner. No matter what, Brett had to say something and considering his stats almost mirrored his it would have been kind of dumb to say he did 'fair' or anything lol...

But, one thing I believe about Brett is that he wouldn't sugar coat something about another player. (ie Javon Walker, Sterling Sharpe, etc)

hardrocker950 (56m) : But I put it mostlt on the offense and poor playcalling
hardrocker950 (56m) : I have seen the defense take a lot of flak over the loss..
Cheesey (2h) : Rodgers would have hit open guys. The game plan wouldn't have killed us. Less 3 and outs, and maybe some scores.
beast (2h) : Rodgers wouldn't of abandon attepting to get the ball to Nelson and Adams.
Zero2Cool (2h) : Rodgers with that game plan would have came up short too.
beast (4h) : Yeah the Packers defense got wore out... being on the field so long. Giving longer breathers than 3&out would of helped a lot IMO.
Cheesey (4h) : There wouldn't have been so many 3 and outs, thus keeping our D off the field.
Cheesey (4h) : True, but with the low score we would have had a chance with Rodgers behind center.
Zero2Cool (5h) : Brees is a damn good QB, not giving Capers a pass, not even close.
Zero2Cool (5h) : Saints kicked Packers ass with Rodgers too.
Cheesey (5h) : That's just it. Rodgers needs a DEFENSE as well. And without him, there is NO chance.
beast (6h) : Just fire everyone! Rodgers can do it without them! Hell trade for the healthy Browns players!
Cheesey (8h) : Capers needs to GO. So do players that can't cut it.
Zero2Cool (9h) : Capers presser summed up? INjuries are why we suck. (shut up, coach and adapt)
Zero2Cool (9h) : nearly crapped myself hearing dom capers talk, forgot to close the tab after mccarthy haha
Zero2Cool (9h) : McCarthy said the communication was not good enough on defense yesterday. Injuries in secondary have complicated substitution patterns.
Zero2Cool (9h) : McCarthy again says "I believe in him"... sorry, BS, we saw how you believe in him yesterday.
Zero2Cool (9h) : @The_Green_Gold Highest graded players Kenny Clark & Blake Martinez. It wouldn't be possible to grade an entire defense
Porforis (10h) : Well, it WAS clean until someone 'shouted' in it...
Zero2Cool (10h) : QB Brett Hundley when targeting a WR against Saints: 6-for-15, 54 yards.
Zero2Cool (10h) : clean?
