Not so good news...
I liked Millen, at least as the Lions GM. ::razz:

Fans seem not to be that sure about the Lions next future, but are happy about the move.

The Matt Millen era is over in Detroit.

The embattled Lions team president and chief executive officer is leaving the position, his wife told ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

FOXSports.com first reported Wednesday that Millen had been removed from his position. It was unclear whether he had been fired or had resigned, according to the report.

The move comes two days after Bill Ford Jr., the son of team owner William Clay Ford, publicly said he would have fired Millen if he had the authority to do so.

The Lions are 31-84 under Millen. But until this point, the Lions have resisted widespread demands from fans seeking Millen's ouster.

According to the report, Millen had informed a number of employees about the change on Wednesday morning and had large packing boxes in his office.

I think we all agree that this was long over due.

Aww......darn it.
I was hoping they would keep him for another 20 years or so. That would guarentee us some free wins!

Combined the threads and renamed it so that we don't have an new thread added.

Maybe the Vikes will hire Millen to join their triangle of authority.. or whatever the heck they coined it.

Was he fired or did he resign because of the comments made by Jr?

Well considering he should have been canned years ago.. does it really matter?

As long as he keeps his twinkle toes out of Green Bay.. and the Lions don't decide to hire a competent GM.. it is just semantics isn't it.

uffda udfa (1h) : Back to football: Julio says he's going to play Sunday. Did NOT say he wouldn't be limited in the game.
uffda udfa (1h) : Anyone ever used their dishwasher to make their Thanksgiving turkey?
uffda udfa (1h) : Favorite Ronnie Milsap song? Smokey Mountain Rain or Any Day Now?
uffda udfa (4h) : Favorite GM candidate... Wolf or Gutekunst?
uffda udfa (5h) : I'd rather sit them than play them too compromised.
uffda udfa (5h) : Yeah, Z. More pressure cooker talk and smoked turkeys.
Zero2Cool (5h) : If this were a regular-season game, Nelson, Adams and Allison probably would not play, MM says.
Smokey (6h) : Mason Crosby is ill, hope it's not the Flu.
Smokey (6h) : Great, can we move past that story and get back to the Atlanta game ?
Zero2Cool (6h) : Packers exec Eliot Wolf has withdrawn his name for 49ers' GM job, as @TomPelissero reported. He didn't feel it was the right time.
TheKanataThrilla (7h) : We'll just have to score TDs then.
Zero2Cool (7h) : That's what we know.
Zero2Cool (7h) : Crosby, Mason K Illness
Smokey (7h) : Is He ill or not ?
Smokey (7h) : Raiderpride asked, "Anyone know what Crosby's illness is?"
Zero2Cool (8h) : Davante Adams expected to play- KFFL
Porforis (8h) : Alright, my opinion on Jordy has changed. If he's medically cleared to play, play him.
hardrocker950 (10h) : By Sunday we won't have any WRs
Zero2Cool (11h) : Geronimo hamstring, Janis quad. BEAUTIFUL.
Smokey (11h) : Mason Crosby, is his health OK ?
Smokey (11h) : Hello
FLORIDA PACKER88 (11h) : Davis, G-Mo, and Janis will need to step up, but all three did score last time we played ATL!
FLORIDA PACKER88 (11h) : Does Janis become a playoff hero second year in a row? Looks we're gonna have to find out either way regardless. Thank God for a healthy Cob
Smokey (11h) : Is Mason Crosby's health OK ?
Smokey (12h) : What's in your Coffee ?
uffda udfa (18-Jan) : Sit Davante if he has a bad ankle. We remember 2015.
uffda udfa (18-Jan) : Davante is not going to practice until SAT at earliest.
uffda udfa (18-Jan) : Davante and Jordy may be inactive at ATL.
Smokey (18-Jan) : ROFL !!
Cheesey (18-Jan) : The Packers SMOKED the COWBOYS!!!LOL!
