I wasn't referring to signatures and avatars specifically. I don't see any reason to hotlink those, since all you have to do is upload it using the appropriate menu. I was referring to graphics in threads that are hotlinked using the [img] tag. Some of them haven't been showing up periodically.
EDIT: Wow, I just now realized for the first time that MY signature graphic is hosted at Photobucket. It never occurred to me to check before. Now I feel dumb. |

Avatar... no problem.. a convinent way to post and host. Signature.. well a bit more cumbersome.. however with a dedicated thread, as such, to dump them in.. It isn't terrible. Well that is now that the host is snappy again.. that is. ;) |

If a hotlinked graphic doesn't show up, I don't think that's an issue with PH.com rather more possibly the item has a refusal for allowance of being hotlinked. |

Since the change to the new host the subdomain http://forum.packershome.com no longer maps to the forum. |

I've been cleaning the database and changing a few things all day ... apparently disabling the user agents yields that response. |

1and1.com - 200MB database limit and we're near 500MB GoDaddy.com - 200MB database limit and has more than 4,000 websites on a server Arvixe.com - Inconsistent and unreliable customer service, if they even answer. Must check these two out. http://www.winhost.com/windows-hosting-plans.aspxhttps://www.discountasp.net/features.aspxhttp://www.hostgator.com/windows-hosting.shtml - More InfoEdited by member Monday, October 24, 2011 8:20:02 PM(UTC)

GoDaddy is not an option for a forum, as you well know.
I liked DreamHost when I was with them. |

I'd recommend my host, Site5, but you are dependent upon Windows with the forum software you chose. |

Our database is on a server with 566 other databases. I wonder if this is a cause for inconsistency with the data set return times. I liked DreamHost when I was with them. Do they do Windows hosting? |

I don't know, to be honest. I have always chosen Linux hosting as a matter of course. I do remember they were dirt cheap and you got unlimited domains, plus one domain per year for free. |

DreamHost is Linux only.
DiscountASP wants $5 a month for each database. So, for JUST PackersHome, it would be $15 +tax a month. You guys are cool an fun, but you're not worth that much to me. Sorry. ;)
I have to look into the other options closely. |

I bitched to Arvixe about the fact that my site had been all but unusable the past few days. They finally investigated it and found out that another website on the server was abusing resources. (No shit, Sherlock.) They disabled the site and suddenly mine works again. |
