I think you're looking a combination of Johnny Jolly, Ryan Pickett, and Colin Cole on rushing situations.

On passing situations, Cullen Jenkins and either Jolly or Michael Montgomery.

If Pickett ends up missing a lot of time then I think you need to go after someone. Its going to come down to whether or not he can get someone who he believes is an upgrade over Muir or Malone. If he can then I could see him doing that. If not then well go with what we have.

I wouldn't think so. Pickett and Jolly are the starters. and back up DT's we have. and Harrell being sidelined for the first half could be a blessing in disguise. He can inject some youth and freshness into the D Line about the time we need some.

If Harrell was a starter id be concerned. Right now hes just a backup with serious potential and some bad luck with injuries.

Some people still assume that Wynn lacks commitment. That was the line on him coming out of college, but as soon as he got to the Packers, the coaches were impressed by his work ethic. Both Ted Thompson and Rock Gullickson, the team's strength coach, have praised Wynn's effort. I really think that at this point it's simply a case of Wynn being unable to stay healthy. Not everybody's body can withstand the rigors of the NFL, even with proper weight training. For that reason, I think his prospects in the NFL are pretty bleak. A practice squad might be the best place for him at this point, if anyone wants to take a chance on him.

Honestly, I'm not a big fan of Mo, and I like what I've seen from Lumpkin so far. Morency had one too many bad cases of fumblitis for me. My vote goes to Grant, B-Jack, Herron and Lumpy.

:magnifyglass: Nailed two on the list anyway. Of course harrell is a no brainer as well as he always has either a runny nose, a crooked elbow or some such. One of TT's biggest blunders was selecting that guy #1. Wynn is anther talent that seems oft injured which is a shame as I do believe he has talent. Think some team with a lot of patience and good medical people will get a very good player. Francies was lost among all the new talent at WR, which leaves Powdrell which I admit is a bit of a surprise.

I've always been a fan of keeping Morency, but Lumpkin looks damn good this year. I don't see how you let him go.
However, isn't Morency considered the best blitz picker upper on the team?

I think both Mo and Herron are good at picking up blitzes.

Like I had mentioned before we need to pick up a DT off of waivers or FA. We can't go into the season like this, one injury and we are screwed. I am hoping we pick up Rod Coleman because he could have an impact like Grady Jackson did for us, a big run stopper.

Ha Ha I wasn't quite that childish about it. But yes, I felt as though we wasted a pick.

Sometimes when you take a chance, it doesn't work out for you. This seems like one of those times with Harrel.

Agreed.

Bummer about it was that 'twas a #11 pick. If he'd been a round 5 pick, then not such a bummer.

You almost wonder if Harrell snuck into Ted Thompson 's room the night before and put a tape player with Abba's "Take a Chance on Me" playing continuously.

You mean #1 pick, not #11, right? Cause I think our pick was the 16th spot that year.

And Harrell will eventually pay off, imo. We just have to teach him to stay away from the Wii.

I think it was last season, that Richard Seymore of the Pats started the season on PUP. He's possibly their most important player on D, and arguably most important on the entire team (I heard somewhere that the coaching staff and the players think this way), and they did fine as I recall...

Heh. Oops. See kids what happens when you smoke too much crack?

Well, I hope you're right. I am by no means rooting for the guy to fail. I hope he recovers and turns into the next Corey Williams. I'm just saying I wouldn't bet on it happening.

i'll go so far as to say he won't be "the next Corey Williams" in 2008. but i look for him to come back mid-season, inject some energy into the club, and contribute down the stretch as the Packers vie for a playoff spot. I do expect that.
