I've always said that I won't follow the team if they moved because I was a MINNESOTA Viking fan first. But in this instance, I'm pretty sure I'll follow them with ease.

This states' legislature/government AND voters, for the most part, is the worst.

I haven't clicked the links. What is happening? I'd like to see the Vikings stay (easy wins for the Packers plus their fans can't debate worth a damn) and have an open stadium. I also think the Detroit Lions should have an open stadium.

Atlanta Falcons
New Orleans Saints
Saint Louis Rams
Minnesota Vikings
Detroit Lions
Houston Texans
Arizona Cardinals
Indianapolis Colts

Each of those teams should go to a full time open roof stadium.

In all fairness to the other teams in the league why can't all the teams issue not voting stock? It is a tax on the sports fans who want to contribute.

No one will bellyache about the new stadium only those who want it would be paying for it.

The first two paragraphs on the Pioneer Press article:

Quote:
After clearing two House committees with relative ease this month, a bill to use public money to help build a Minnesota Vikings stadium in Minneapolis was defeated Monday night, April 16, in a third, dealing a potentially fatal blow to the project's chances this legislative session.

In a 9-6 vote that was bipartisan in its opposition, the House Government Operations and Elections Committee declined to go along with even a watered-down motion to pass the bill "without recommendation" to the House Taxes Committee.

And the SaveTheVikes.org update:

Quote:
Members of the Operations House Committee who defeated the Vikings stadium bill

The Vikings quest for a new home, keeping the team in Minnesota suffered a huge set back last night, potentially sending the team to Los Angeles.

Below is the contact information of the Legislators who voted out the purple and gold. Please contact them expressing your frustrations.

Tell them, we’ll remember in November.

We have always stayed away from making this a partisan issue, but notably last night five Republicans voted for the stadium and only one Democrat supported it. With labor unions pushing hard on Democrats to help with the 20 percent unemployment among the labor trades we are shocked that the DFL let down their union supporters.

Tell them, we’ll remember in November.

I fail to understand how any city would not want an NFL team. I don't know the details on this, but it just seems odd to me that this seems to be a bigger issue than I feel it needs to be.

All the spin-off taxation revenue is huge. They won't help a sport franchise, but where will they be when a bunch of bars and restaurants start folding up shop and tourism and hotel stays drop?

Did or didn't the state of Minnesota vote in a bunch of new representatives to curb government spending? Seems to me the people of Minnesota have spoken loud and clear that they don't want unnecessary government spending. It sucks for Viking fans but they still have an outdated stadium to play in. I know it's there, I drove right by it on Friday.

Government spending of what, in this case?

Casino money? Or taxes that MPLS pays already?

beast (3h) : I'm not sure if it's still true, but it used to be hard to get sacks on Eli because he'd toss one up when linemen got semi-close (which lead
Zero2Cool (4h) : Slam Eli a lot very early. Once rattled he can't regain composure.
beast (5h) : since slot WRs might be the Packers strength depth/talent wise
beast (5h) : With AR's passing % down field so low, I've been saying they should go with short passes like the Pats used to do, especially since slot WRs
beast (5h) : What's going to be needed against the Giants is OL and DBs (IMO)
Smokey (28-Sep) : Cook(TE) has time to heal, but may not be needed against NYG on Oct 9th .
Zero2Cool (27-Sep) : . Aaron Rodgers has a completion percentage of 33.3 on 10+ air yard passes this season (tied for the lowest in NFL).
Zero2Cool (27-Sep) : High-ankle sprain could sideline Cook
Zero2Cool (26-Sep) : Odell Beckham Jr, Dez Bryant, Alshon Jeffery and Julio Jones on tap for Packers. Yippie.
Cheesey (26-Sep) : Arnold Palmer was a class act all around. RIP
Smokey (26-Sep) : Rest in Peace Arnold Palmer, you blessed us all .
hardrocker950 (26-Sep) : What a strange weekend of football
jdlax (26-Sep) : What's up, friends? It's like bizzaro world right now trailing the Vikings. Blah.
GoPack1984 (25-Sep) : Ryan Fitzpatrick threw 6 interceptions!
TheKanataThrilla (25-Sep) : Cleveland loses.
The_Green_Ninja (25-Sep) : I swear, Jacksonville's hot weather must be a huge advantage. Kept it super close with the Ravens
TheKanataThrilla (25-Sep) : Su'a Cravens with a big INT. A guy I wanted.
TheKanataThrilla (25-Sep) : Can Cleveland win?
Zero2Cool (25-Sep) : T.J. Lang said after one of Aaron Rodgers' TD passes the Packers quarterback head-butted Lang in excitement and said "I'm back."
Zero2Cool (25-Sep) : Terrelle Pryor could see snaps at quarterback
Zero2Cool (25-Sep) : inactives 6 Callahan 37 Shields 42 Burnett 52 Matthews 68 Murphy 95 Jones 98 Guion
Mucky Tundra (25-Sep) : GET HYPE
Zero2Cool (25-Sep) : Packers aim to showcase speed of Ty Montgomery, Trevor Davis
Zero2Cool (25-Sep) : CB Quinten Rollins will start for Shields. Micah Hyde for Burnett. Julius Peppers for Matthews. Kenny Clark for Guion.
Tezzy (25-Sep) : Probably will not be on the top of the Pick'Em leaderboard after today, soaking it in beforehand
Tezzy (25-Sep) : Foosball!
yooperfan (25-Sep) : Game day, tee it up and get this show on the road!

The_Green_Ninja (24-Sep) : Big whoop, we have Aaron. We are going to win. H8ers.
Zero2Cool (24-Sep) : Matthews, Burnett out; Guion, Jones doubtful
