I've found a way to fix 179,300 posts from prior to the site platform switchover. I've been toying around with this for a few days. Maybe pussying around is more like it since I'm taking so many precautionary steps to ensure it's accuracy done correctly.
The reason for the 'fix' is because all of those posts prior to May 18th, 2011 have lost their formatting. It's been bugging me for a very long time. Sure, we could just delete them, but that's over 5 years of 'history' that I don't want to simply be gone with. Therefore, I've spent hours coding, testing and working out a plan to restore the posts.
I've made a mirror of the current database and been running tests against it, then making it the live database for the site to see if things work. So far, so good, but there's a lot more work to be done yet.
I'm only mentioning this so when you see weird things on the site, it's expected, no worries, I have it under control.
No posts are expected to be lost during this event and hoping to have it completed within two weeks. That's the goal.

That one is pretty much a given, what with all the freakin' cheeseheads that you have here.[grin1]
Seriously Kevin, you do one hell of fine job with this site....my hat's off to you.
I have noticed however, that you are pushing 19,000 posts here and that gives me great cause for concern, my young friend.
You really, really need to back away from the computer... find yourself a woman (a real one this time, no inflatables)..... and get laid.

Thanks vikesrule.
This is turning out to be more difficult than I had expected. It's keeping my mind busy, which is what I need at this time.

Ugh, okay. After doing some more testing, there was about 4,885 posts that were not linked to a table. Some other posts that were floating around too have been deleted. Looks like the import post count will be around 174,411 that will be fixed.
*** you will see some weird stuff today while this occurs and the site will be down for a bit too ***
