What I am trying to say about the system qbs and was really meant to be toward the wrs. We do not run a west coast offense anymore. We run more of a run and shoot offense like the Oilers did years ago, or like a texas tech or hawaii type offense when you pass the ball 85% of the time. When you do this the stats will be up for the receiving corp which in turn gives the false indication that all the wrs are stars.
thanks Post received 1 applause.

Who thinks all of the Packer's wide receivers are stars? The Packer's talent at the receiver position is more collective, that is, the strength is in the quality of talent from 1 through 5+. We have really good receivers across the board but no true dominant number 1 such as a Calvin or Andre Johnson. Thanks to our "system" we don't need that, and I think having someone like that puts too much emphasis on one player James Jon anyway. Yes, a guy likees isn't a "star." He is, however, a great match up against 4th string corner backs.

The talent of the Packer's wide receivers plus tight end (s) (not to mention the guy throwing them the ball) is what makes the receiving group as a whole "stars," not the individual players. I don't expect that to change anytime soon, either.

I know you weren't trying to nail the exact percentage. I was just curious for myself.

593 Pass Attempts, including 41 sacks.
395 Rushing Attempts.

988 Total Snaps of Offense which puts the pass/rush ratio more like 60% to 40%.

Side Note: Packers opponents passed the ball 637 attempts (plus 29 sacks) and ran the ball 383 times.

Johnson is a "dominant number 1" because he has a lack of competition within the Lions roster. If he were on a deep team with 4 other solid WRs, he wouldn't stand out as much. The passes would be spread around to other receivers more.

It is like when the Packers had Sterling Sharpe. They got better when he left because the ball was spread around to more receivers.

Anyone would stand out less when surround by a great cast, but Calvin Johnson is a truly elite talent at the WR position. I don't see any way that could be denied. A lot of his ability comes from his gigantic size and his knowledge of how to use his size to his advantage against much smaller defensive backs. He's also pretty damn fast. They don't make many like him.

In a post on his Twitter account Tuesday night, Driver said, "When I said I will be a Packer for life. It is now true. Packer for life."

When I got in my car today, on the radio they were talking about Donald Driver and the Packers have agreed on a restructure of his contract that will be signed later today. They also reported Donald Driver will participate in OTA's today at the Hutson Center.

Zero2Cool (14m) : Slam Eli a lot very early. Once rattled he can't regain composure.
beast (35m) : since slot WRs might be the Packers strength depth/talent wise
beast (35m) : With AR's passing % down field so low, I've been saying they should go with short passes like the Pats used to do, especially since slot WRs

Smokey (20h) : Cook(TE) has time to heal, but may not be needed against NYG on Oct 9th .
