Sooo..........after a record 45 days without so much as a drop of moisture, the weather guru's were predicting that, "Yep, Tuesday night a big cold front will move in and will get a little rain."
However, they didn't judge the drop in temperature quite right. Folks, did you know that when the air temperature hits 32 degrees or below that rain turns to snow? 75 degrees last night at 10 pm and 29 degrees this morning at 8 am. Plus, 5 inches of the white stuff softly blanketing the ground, and my frigging driveway.
But, the upside....no more smoke. We can see mountains that we thought were out there somewhere, and it somewhat slowed the fires near us. By slowed somewhat I mean they (fires) took a day off to recuperate from the shock of cold snow, and are now putting out more smoke than ever. They're not really going anywhere now, but have you ever burned wet soggy wood in a campfire? Try this with 250,000 acres of the stuff and see what you come up with.
And, as usual, I didn't shovel the snow. Any snowfall before Thanksgiving is considered pre-season, and we ignore it. It doesn't count in the standings. |

I'll trade you a day of snow. It was sweltering hot in SF. It's not supposed to get this hot.
(Actually, I take that back. California drivers in the snow? Bad idea). |
My man Donald Driver (thanks to Pack93z for the pic) 2010 will be seen as the beginning of the new Packers dynasty. |

I could also go for snow (growing up in Alaska now in Istanbul)
here the snowboarding season is about 2 months and the closest place is about 3 hours away by car.

Bah. Quick yer complainin'. Turkey's got topless beaches with REALLY hot women. I'd take that over just about any other kind of weather. |

Turkeys also got $12/gallon gas and car taxes putting honda civic at $35K. 5-6 hour traffic jams that are a norm in Istanbul. Not to mention the some $43 I spend on a fifth of Jack..... So I bitching about the weather could be seen as the least of my problems. BTW here is the "bikini" that has become all too common on Turkish public beaches. |
