Not looking at or understanding what a run game does for a team both offensively and defensively is on of my biggest aggravations. At least Zombie is coming along in that aspect. Big Grin

None of this has anything to do with this years running game with Benson being no better than last years.

Someone who knows the rules better than I do - help me out. Can Benson play later on this season or is he done for the season legally? (Assuming he's healthy near the end of the season).

I liked Benson's running better than Green's but Green's a better receiver.

This season, the NFL and NFLPA agreed on one player from each team being able to be put on IR with the option to return yet this season. Think DL in baseball, win - win for clubs and players.

I think they have to be shelved for 6 or 8 weeks and then they can return.

I am willing to bet, this becomes more of a staple as it allows more players to be on active rosters each season, gives clubs flexibility on the roster, and allows players to collect more incentive monies. Within a couple years, I think this becomes more of a norm.

Same as the NFL site.. 8 weeks.

Quote:
Previously, any player put on IR was lost for the entire season. Now, if a player is hurt and put on injured reserve after Sept. 4, that player may return to the active roster eight weeks after the IR designation, and the player must be on the IR list for at least six weeks. In addition, a player must be "designated for return" at the time of his IR classification, which means that a team must anticipate a player's ability to return midseason. Teams can't just hope their key injured player will recover in time.
