This past weekend, including last night, several players have gotten hurt via the cut block, not a chop but a "legal" cut block.

If the NFL seriously wants to show a level of concern about player safety, not just to try and minimize the damages of a lawsuit or to protect its golden boys at the QB position, it will deem the cut block illegal.

If a block is below mid thigh and down, it should be illegal.

But do we see emphasis on this illegal play, no we do not, it would hurt the offense and thus possibly reduce points, thus possibly the ratings.

So they can take their pledge of player safety being on the forefront, turn it sideways and ram it where the sun doesn't shine.

Hypocritical bullshit.

Heard the NFL is finally going to "Look" at cut blocks.. probably because a highly marketable player was lost to it.

Player safety my ass.. protecting the cash cow. Yes.

It's not much different than NASCAR taking a look into driver safety more vigorously after Dale Earnhardt died.

They're damned if they do and damned if they do. If they go after helmet to helmet hits, they need to go after other hits with a higher incidence of associated injuries. If they don't, they're not being serious about player safety. If they do, they're just making football progressively more wussy.

To me.. this is not a wussification issue.. this has been and is a problem.. and in most cases a season ending injury.

There are rules, most notably surrounding the QB, that has a far higher wussification factor.. especially how they are selectively enforced.

To you, yes. But even for helmet to helmet hits, the NFL took some heat from some fans. Sure, it was a minority and I doubt hardly anybody decided to stop watching because of it, but everytime they enact new rules protecting players from injuries, they're going to take more and more heat.

I have hated cut blocking from way back in the Denver John Elway days. I know it's not synonymous, but I've always equated the ZBS with cut blocking. I was mortified when Mike McCarthy instituted our own ZBS system. I would be happy if the NFL outlawed these types of blocks.

Zero2Cool (10h) : Hi 😊😉
TheKanataThrilla (16h) : I guess I should have did a refresh when I walked away from the computer.
TheKanataThrilla (16h) : Peters is 25 with one year left on his contract at just over $3M
Zero2Cool (18h) : Mel Kiper sticks with Marcus Davenport to GB in 2nd mock
Zero2Cool (19h) : As for Marcus Peters, how old is he an what's his contract years left?
Zero2Cool (19h) : Packers got tired of Sitton's antics.
Zero2Cool (19h) : Sitton was released not because of play or salary, but personality. He will not be re-signed.
TheKanataThrilla (19h) : If we are planning on possibly cutting Cobb I can see the 2nd round pick. A second round pick for Peters is a pretty good deal.
Smokey (20h) : I'd offer Cobb + a 3rd round pick + a 6th round pick in 2019 for the CB Peters from KC.
TheKanataThrilla (21h) : I guess that is a highter round pick
TheKanataThrilla (21h) : Suggestion was a 2nd round pick. I would want a lower round pick. I think that is too much. A 3rd or 4th seems about right.
Smokey (21h) : Cobb and WHAT PICK ?
TheKanataThrilla (22h) : A suggestion I saw was a trade of Cobb and a Pick for Peters. I think that would be a great move.
Smokey (21-Feb) : Sitton was drafted be GB in 2008, not a young man at this point, but still is a "bear" of a man.
Cheesey (21-Feb) : Sitton? Maybe if the price is right.
Cheesey (21-Feb) : I doubt the Packers would try to resign Sutton. But who knows? If the price is right?
Zero2Cool (20-Feb) : Bears declining option on Josh Sitton. He'll be Free Agent.
Zero2Cool (20-Feb) : Chiefs CB Marcus Peters trade rumors -- come to Packers!
