18 hurries, EIGHTEEN and some of us still think he's doing a 'fine' job? No, Bryan Bulaga is NOT the answer. Bring back Mark Tauscher!!

A little confused, are hurries and sacks counted the same? You wanna get sacks but I think the hurries and perceived pressure are just as important as the actual stat.

Yeah, Brian Bulaga has A LOT of work to do to make this right. His play thus far in 2012 has been downright awful. What the hell happened?

I would think a hurry is when the pass was rushed, thus meaning it cannot be a sack. I'm not sure though. ProFootballFocus.com is the source.

Didn't they say he was playing injured? I thought they brought it up in the Monday Night game against the Seahawks.

Yes.. his knee has been bothering him for some time this season. He was on the injury report early this season.

And I heard so many people saying we should move Bulaga to LT before the season started.
There are easy wasy to help short of replacement and getting somebody who will have just as much trouble under the conditions. Bulaga has a bad knee, and he is getting beat by speed. But McCarthy is making it more difficult on him and the rest of the line. When there isn't a run threat. Defense goes balls to the wall to get to the QB. When the QB is in shotgun almsot all the time, there isn't a question on where the defense needs to rush to.
Run the ball, get Rodgers under Center and vary the drops, 1,3,5,7. Pass blocking is retreating. Don't make it so the guy with a bad knee is retreating 80% of the time.

By looking at that Newhouse has looked very good and the interior is solid when you think of how many times rodgers steps back. Bulaga is what's killing us. If you notice a lot of the pressure on rodgers comes right into his face. Which is the right side

Hopefully they will give some help to Bulaga by chipping with Crabtree or Kuhn. I could see an emphasis on Crabby chipping in the gameplan if Jmike can't go.

Yes, agreed during passing downs, we should have Crabtree or Kuhn chipping. And we also need to run up the middle more, so we'll be utilizing more the center of the OL. Take some pressure off of Bulaga. Bulaga when healthy is a decent OT. He's currently playing hurt, so we're not seeing him at 100%.

(I won't say 'told you so'. Not yet, anyway.)
But I will say that everyone pooh-poohed when I said Bulaga was over-rated.

Buluga was phenomenal in 2011. I can't understate that enough. Unfortunately, that makes his regression such a kick to the stomach. There's more to pressure/sacks than just the o-line, though. Aaron Rodgers is reverting to old habits of holding onto the ball. That needs to stop, though a lot of that may have to do with the receiving core not getting open. In other words, it's a collective effort.
