Not really, I find Elk to be too lean, but if you want to do some poaching - who am I to judge you.

So, how does an elk tenderloin taste grilled relative to a whitetail tenderloin?

I've never had elk, actually. Once had ....er, what is that kind of little deer they have down Texas way, again? Whatever it was, it wasn't any better than white-tail IMO, just pricier.

None of the above. It wouldn't have been a wasted vote. Obama and Romney -- Those were the wasted votes.

Wade's first rule of cooking meat: There is no meat so dry that the right marinade can't make it tasteworthy.

Or do they know how to butcher it. I have no respect for all these Cabela hunters that drop the beast off at the local butcher shop. Grow a set and get your hands bloody, boys.

But as for the Elk meat - it is good, but I prefer the backstraps and tenderloins from the average 2 or 3 year old whitetail. The problem with downing the trophy buck is that you get trophy meat too.

very true. A few years ago I was in WI hunting with my brother and his friends. I had to leave without getting a deer.

Someone gave me their small doe and I gave him my permit. Some of the guys were laughing that I had killed a dog. Actually it wasn't me. It was some of the best meat I ever had. by looking at her size I would say she wasn't much more than 2.

you can keep the 30 point buck with all the testosterone. I will take the tender young ones.

alas it has been years since I have gone out. I need to find my gun and get lined up with some experts how will show me the ropes.

Would love to try Wade's elk. As someone who has sampled Wade's food in real life, I can just say he's a better cook than I am. And I'm pretty ****** good.

What can I say? Living in California has made me soft.

By the way, nice day outside today. I got a t-shirt and a Aaron Rodgers jersey. I think I'm gonna go for a walk and check out the babes. Babe report when I get back...

Well, DakotaT would have to furnish the TV. I seem to recall he has an extra 50"er. Which is about the width of my living room. (g)
