Dude is an idiot for fucking up his gutter, and he's going only a fraction of that distance/height but obviously easily fixed and modified, imo. plus I'm only going about his height, this time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1LZZvndrY4If you've ever pumped shingles up a ladder, you habla what I'm sayin'. A simple 2x4 block nailed to the edge of the roof, would have prevented screwing up the gutter. Roofs I've done, are also on the leasure pace. Got the old torn off, ice and water and felt laid down and fastened with wood slats. Would work for a couple hours in the morning before it got to hot, and again in the evening. One more roof for my brother and my career should be done. Next time they need to be done, It will be the kids and grandkids doing the work while I supervise. |

I will be up there with a GD cane and oxygen mask running those nails... Young cheap-skates: Nail placement (and depth, for that matter) is very critical, yet under-appreciated as to the longevity of your roof job and those exposed tabs. If you are paying or DIY, remember this. Redneck/cheapskate wisdom from an old guy. When you hear those nail guns going willy-nilly, one of two things are happening. They are REAL good, or they are giving you an ass roof that you will not know about until it fails prematurely due to improper nailing. Edited by user Wednesday, December 12, 2012 11:43:15 AM(UTC)

Cheap, that is why it is going to be the kids, grandkids, nephews doing the work. They ain't getting paid. I'll be pushing 70 the next time it needs to be done. |
