Starks might be done for the year.

Does Ryan Grant get a call?

I think it's bad timing because a lot of teams seemed to have an open spot because of injury in the last two weeks, and grabbed a RB off their or another team practice squad (just like the Packers did with RB DuJuan Harris.

Maybe they could make one of the back-up TEs a RB? I think Ryan Taylor played FB in college before being moved to TE.

If Starks goes to the IR, I say look at all options... but I think they're gonna be limited from the PS guys as a lot of them where just grabbed up and put on the main roster, but maybe some vets still out there.

Ryan Grant (signed and cut by the Redskins)

Joseph Addai (signed by the Patriots but quit on the conditioning test and was cut. Worked out for the Giants about a month ago... and the Giants just signed two other RBs)

LaDainian Tomlinson (retirement and said the "passion to play is gone.", but the Packers could check up on him... and just see...)

Barry Sanders (okay I'm totally joking on this one...)

Tyrell Sutton (looked good in a preseason with the Packers, not much since (he was cut and claimed by another team)

Jeremiah Johnson (hasn't done much in the NFL, but I thought he had potential)

It's totally believable that Starks is hurt again but unbelievable that the Packers are having to endure such a string of injuries.
Who will be the last man standing at the end of the season?

Amazing, isn't it? I was shocked to see this out of nowhere, then shook it off in a nanosecond.

I would have ZERO problem with Ted bringing Grant back. That could be a very good move at this time, considering the situation. Veteran presence who knows the system, and, hell be hell bent to win a SB in what may prove to be his last chance.

I don't understand what the hell we are doing wrong in practice or is it the training machines ... something has to be wrong I mean we obviously are doing something wrong that we keep getting 50% of the team injured.

injures every where.

Starks has had too many injuries in his career including college to ever be relied upon again. Time for Uncle Teddy to look for a new RB in the draft. In the mean time feature Green on 1st & 2nd and Kuhn on 3rd. They will manage.

I'm hesitant to go to Cobb out of the backfield too often - Not a good guy to get dinged up, even if he has been pretty resilient so far. He hasn't gotten any big hits yet and I hope to keep it that way.

Conflicting reports maybe?

Quote:
Starks injured his knee in Sunday's game, but the next day, coach Mike McCarthy didn't sound worried about it.

"We have a couple guys that are being evaluated," McCarthy said Monday. "Nothing of serious nature."

Starks has impressed McCarthy lately and scored on a 22-yard run Sunday.

"I liked what James Starks did; I thought he stepped up," McCarthy said after the 23-14 victory over the Vikings. "I thought James was a little cut above today and that’s why I went with him in the fourth quarter."

If Starks remains out for any period of time, the Packers' 20th-ranked rushing offense will have to get by the rest of this season with Grant, second-year running back Alex Green — who leads the team in rushing with 360 yards — and fullback John Kuhn. Green Bay used Benson as its starter for the first five games before he suffered a season-ending Lisfranc foot injury. Green then became the starter before McCarthy began splitting carries evenly most weeks between Green and Starks.
I think when there's enough will and aggression, there's no shortage of talent either.
